Chapter 10: Chapter 10- sigh... that's sad.
Your catch and don't make this ugly for the both of us.'' The leader snapped, and his last patience vanished; he didn't want to be physical and cause too much noise.
He signalled for his men to drag the beasts away. Eva wasn't scared by the approaching men. Instead, her eyes sparkled, looking at the leader with kind, motherly eyes, which weirded the man out.
''Have you ever been robbed before?'' she asked in a light tone.
''No.'' the words left the man's lips, unconsciously, and Eva's smile grew wider on her face. 'I'm grateful.' saying these words in her mind, she turned into a green blur and attacked the men, catching them off-guard.
Her elbows slammed into the leader's rib, and a crack echoed around the area causing Julian to winch at the sound. They both watched Eva go through the five men; her kicks and attacks were ruthless.
Gasps of pain ran through the area; some of them held their dislocated hands or legs, and every breath they took caused them pain. They lay on the floor, unable to move a muscle. They watched her break every bone in their leader's body.
''Argghh… please-'' his pleas were interrupted by her kicking his chest. The force pushed him back, and he slammed his back against the cave wall. ''ah…'' he could only moan painfully, his eyes blurred with tears; he shrank into the wall when he saw her coming towards him.
Eva squatted down, but her eyes turned away quickly when she saw tears and snot covering his face. She nearly threw up in disgust when she noticed a suspicious yellow liquid seeping down from his legs.
''Your space bag,'' she ordered, not wanting to stay here any longer. The man saw her looking away and he summoned his earth powers and wanted to attack, but a flash of green slash at his hands.
The man saw half of his hand lying on the floor, and then the pain registered in his brain. ''argh!'' he let out a blood-curdling scream as blood gushed out of his severed hand. He withered on the floor from pain, almost losing his mind.
''Your space bag or the other arm goes,'' Eva stated coldly as she watched him flare around in pain. Her sword was dripping with blood as waited.
''It's in his left pocket.'' One of the men shouted to her; he didn't want his boss to lose his remaining hands or for her to face them when she couldn't get it from the boss.
Eva looked at his blood-stained clothes and frowned; she turned and pointed at the man who was talking with her sword. ''You come and remove and hand it over.'' She ordered the man causing him to shrink into himself from fear when he was pointed by her sword.
The boss looked through the slit of his eye and watched one of his men search his pocket and hand the small bag over to his attacker, and regret filled his heart.
He wished he could turn back time and warn himself from stopping this petite, helpless-looking woman, who was a demon on the inside. Now his dungeon career is over.
He lost consciousness from pain and regret. Eva took the small bag from his hands and walked to her hunted prey and placed them into the bag. She watched it disappear, and her eyes flashed with wonder. So she can control the bag with her mind's eyes.
But since she couldn't bind the bag with her blood like the high-quality one, it wasn't safe; anyone could easily rob her of it, or she might be pickpocketed. 'Anyway, beggars can't be choosers.' She shrugged and patted the bag and walked away but paused when she remembered something.
''y-y-you can't kill us, we handed over the bag.'' One of them stammered and moved backwards in fear at her sight of them; the other pretended they hadn't woken up, but they couldn't stop their body from trembling, giving themselves away.
''Nice knowing all of you. By chance, do you know another group that deals in your line of business?'' Eva asked lightly, a kind smile on her face, trying to show them that she meant no harm. They didn't believe her one bit; their boss's hands were proof she was a demon in sheep's clothing.
''We don't know.'' One of them answered, wanting her to leave quickly. ''sigh…that's sad.'' She muttered in disappointment and left.
The men collapsed to the ground in relief, grateful that the woman was finally gone. Before they could bask in that feeling, they heard footsteps of two men approaching them. They stared at them vigilantly, wondering if these men had been here all this while or if it was a coincidence.
''She left you with your lives, but we aren't that forgiving. You have to bear the consequence of your actions.'' Ethan's cold tone sent shivers down their spine. They could feel this man was on another level and did not have much thought but to run from there.
Julian saw their scrambling figure and clicked his fingers, stopping time. A time symbol surrounded them, freezing them in place, their eyes could only dart around. They watched the two men striding towards them, and their eyes widened in fright. If they could talk, they could have begged for their lives, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case.
Their eyes flashed with regret, and they could finally understand what their victims felt when they were about to lose their lives. An icy blue vapour formed around Ethan's finger; he controlled the air surrounding the men. As soon it came in contact with their skin, their body started freezing in the blink of an eye.
The men turned blue in the face; icy air came out of their mouths as they felt their bodies growing cold and numb. Covering their entire body, they turned into an ice sculpture and crumbled into tiny pieces. No single blood was spilt on the ground. The leader was fortunate he was unconscious and couldn't feel the pain of his death.
The group of five men were wiped out from the face of the earth. Julian and Ethan followed after Eva, with no emotional fluctuation whatsoever.
''She keeps getting interesting.'' Julian mused to himself, as they walked forward.
