Zombie Queen transmigration into a book

Chapter 9: Chapter 9- Are you robbing me?

Eva's sword pierced through the monster's mouth, finally killing it. The monster twitched before turning into white dim particles of light, which floated towards her, entering her body and making her sigh with satisfaction.

This energy, released by the dungeon's monsters upon death, was useful; when enough was accumulated, it could lead to levelling up.

As the light faded, she noticed the beast hadn't turned into a drop item but instead left its corpse behind.

''I'm grateful,'' Eva whispered to the monster. She picked up her sword and began skinning it with care, ensuring she didn't damage the fur. It was a gory scene for someone who looked so delicate.

This was the scene that greeted Julian and Ethan. They exchanged glances of disbelief and shock, not expecting to find her capable of not only killing but skinning a beast herself. They had underestimated her.

Eva was almost done peeling off the skin when the dungeon spawned another spider-like beast, this time two.

Eva looked at the two and frowned and dodged quickly, but there was no fear in sight, only calculating gaze as she sized up their furs.

The men, still hidden, watched her with concern; they held themselves from helping her and could only watch and save her when she was closer to death.

Her gaze sharpened on the monsters while sucking all the energy around her, forming a green light sphere over her body. She thought of this idea on a whim, 'Damn, it actually worked. Hahaha, I'm a genius.' She thought happily.

She felt if she could strengthen the weapon, why couldn't she do that for her body as well? Her body glowed and with brightened eyes, she looked at the beast kindly; her eyes had money signs as she watched them surround her.

She dashed towards the one closer to her, her sword slashed across its head. It let out a shriek from anger, and the other one reacted, flinging a highly spurned erosive web towards her, as the other one blocked her with its legs to stop her from moving.

Eva frowned with disgust as she held the monster's legs and threw it towards the coming attack. The beast remained unharmed; it seemed the erosive web from their kind didn't burn them.

''Tch! That didn't work,'' she muttered to herself. But when she saw the beast's body coated with green slime, her face was filled with disgust. See couldn't unsee such horrors. Imagine green slime, soaking and dripping on black fur, with the monster's mouth dripping with green web-like slime.

Even as a zombie, she loved being clean; that is why she always stayed away from her Zombie kind- they were filthy.

This visual impact was traumatizing. She was almost caught off guard by her thoughts.

The two monsters faced her, throwing the webs at her; she could only dodge barely, inching closer to one of them.

Finding an opportunity in its open mouth, which was spurning webs, she quickly stabbed through its brain from its open mouth, killing it instantly.

The other one attacked widely, its legs slamming on her body, making her grimace in pain, but she was quickly healed by the green sphere covering her. Julian and Ethan could barely hold themselves from coming out but held themselves at the last minute.

Eva was finally able to kill the remaining one, and the two of them released a light and entered into her, and it was like a dam was knocked open.

She upgraded to level three and was stunned at how that was possible, only to remember that the golem, which was blasted by this original body, would have entered her. Only with the help of these three monsters was she able to upgrade to level three.

She opened her eyes and quickly dragged the three corpses away from there, not wanting to battle another monster. She was satisfied with these three, and she turned in the direction of the exits.

As she walked passed, Julian stepped out of his hiding place and let out a relieved sigh. ''Damn, my heart had never been so stimulated than this moment,'' he said, holding his chest dramatically though his gaze was serious.

Ethan didn't say anything, but from the fingerprinted wall, it could be seen how he held himself back. ''We should leave,'' Ethan said noticing Eva was heading back and didn't want her to notice she was being followed.

''Let's follow her and make sure she reaches the warp gate,'' Julian said, his tone holding a slight concern, which he didn't realize.

Ethan nodded to his words, not taking a moment to think about it. They followed after her, making sure to keep enough distance for her not to notice.

Eva was panting as she dragged the beast back, 'If I have enough money, I'll get a low-tier space bag. It's too stressful.' She laid plans in her mind.

Almost reaching the tall door, she was surrounded by a group of five men. ''Hey there, beautiful. What do you have there?'' the leader of the team spoke, his voice filled with threat as he eyed the corpse on her hand.

''Excuse me…I want to pass.'' Eva's tone was slow but carried coldness. She was already exhausted, her muscles were aching from dragging this back. She just wanted to head back and rest her head.

''Okay, you can leave, but drop what you are holding.'' The man said in a matter-of-fact tone. He had sized her up as a weak opponent and didn't take her seriously.

Eva dropped what she was holding and turned to the red-haired man talking. Her eyes took in the muscle men surrounding her, and she realized what was happening.

The red-haired man thought he had scared her and was about to signal one of his teammates to pick up the corpses when he was stopped by her question.

''Are you robbing me?'' Eva pointed at herself and asked, her slow words changing. The man looked at her wondering if this chit had a screw loose.

''Isn't it obvious.'' He answered, his tone almost asking if she was blind.

Eva nodded. The way she looked at him changed, her eyes turning brighter, and she almost licked her lips from happiness. The man felt her weird gaze on him and shivered, goosebumps covering his arms. But he shook it off, thinking it was the dungeon-cool air that cursed it.

''How long have you been in your line of business? Do you have a space bag? ''Eva asked two consecutive questions. Causing the men surrounding her to look at her weirdly, wondering to themselves what kind of person they had chosen to rob today.
