Anime Lottery System

As I made my way to the next island I considered what my next moves would be. The system said that I was reborn here a year before Luffy. So it should currently still be a year before the start of the series. This gives me a lot of opportunities to change things in the story if I want to, I don't know if I should though. For now I'll just focus on what's in front of me and what I need right now is a real ship. A crew wouldn't hurt either.

I made landfall on the next island and went into the town which was called Packetown. Apparently it was a town renowned for shipbuilding which made it the perfect destination for me to accomplish my current goals. As I was making my way around town I ran into some Navy officers who were involved in a scuffle with a guy who seemed to be around my age.

"I know you cheated in that race boy! So give me my money!" A man in a Navy captain's jacket screamed into the face of a green haired young man. Apparently the Navy captain had a boat race with this guy and lost and now he was trying to get out of paying up on the bet they made.

"I didn't cheat! I won fair and square! You're the one that owes me money!" Green hair said as he wrenched free of the captain's grasp.

"Oh really? And who's going to believe you over me? You're some punk brat who's always causing trouble for people in town and I'm a well respected Naval officer. Now if you don't want me to arrest you for illegal racing then you better pay up!"

"Huh? Arrest me? You're the one who made the bet with me!"

"Like I said who would believe you? Or do you want to end up in a prison cell like your mother?" At the captain's words Green hair clenched his fists and looked like he wanted to hit him. "Oh you wanna hit me boy? You should know what happens to those who raise their hand against the Navy! You'll be lucky if I don't have you and your tramp mother hanging from the gallows!" The captain then let out a smug laugh.

I was about to step in until one of the villagers put his hand on my shoulder. "Young man you shouldn't get involved. I know this looks harsh but that man is Captain "Iron Fist" Arnold. He's a high ranking officer, and anyone who defies his commands gets crushed. Not to mention that boy there is a well known ruffian and troublemaker. He's not worth getting yourself killed over."

Apparently this guy Arnold was ruling this village with an iron fist just as his name implies. He extorted the villagers for money and anyone who spoke against him either got killed or thrown in prison on false charges. This guy was a really piece of work and it wasn't right what he was doing to these people. But maybe that old man was right. I shouldn't get involved, after all I'd end up becoming a wanted criminal if I intervened. Yeah I should definitely walk away.

Adamantine Kata: Iron-breaker!!!!

While the captain was laughing I hit him with a punch that sent him crashing into the ground. Well so much for thinking about joining the Navy. Because the Navy officers I met so far were nice guys I almost forgot there were corrupt pieces of trash like this guy in there too. I couldn't help but punch a guy like that.

"W-Why did you do that?" Green hair asked.

"That guy seemed kinda like a prick so I punched him." I said shrugging my shoulders. "Now are you gonna help me fight these guys or not?"

"But these guys are Marines if we fight them we'll be branded as criminals. We'll be pirates!"

"So? It kinda seems like they were trying to make you out as a criminal anyway. Might as well make it count."

"Heh! Good point." Green hair said punching out one of the officers near us. As we started a brawl with the marines I noticed that this guy was a pretty good fighter. He probably could have taken that Captain earlier if he wasn't showing restraint.

As we finished beating up the marines the captain finally started to get back up.

"You brats are really in for it now! That was a lucky punch earlier! Now I'll show you why they call me Iron Fist!"

"Oh good, I was hoping to get the chance to wail on you some more." I said as I unwrapped Samehada from my back. Once unwrapped the sharp spikes on it grew and a mouth with razor sharp fangs opened up.

"What is that thing? His sword is some kind of beast!" Someone said as marines and villagers both started to runaway.

"Hmph! Cheap tricks won't work against me boy!" Captain Arnold said trying his hardest to sound confident.

He rushed at me trying to swing his iron fist at me. As he rushed in I swung Samehada down and crushed him into a crater in the ground.

"Whoa did you just kill him?" Green hair asked.

"Nah, I don't think so. I just hurt him really really really…. Really badly. But don't sweat the small stuff. We should probably get out of here before more marines show up."

"Oh crap! You're right!" He said as we both ran away. "So where's your ship?"

"Uh oh! That's right! I came here to buy a ship! We can't run from the Navy in a dingy!" I said slapping my forehead.

"That's fine I know where we can find a boat to use."

"I don't want to steal a boat. Stealing is bad."

"Now you have a problem with crime?" Green hair said with an exasperated expression. "But don't worry it's not stealing. It's technically my boat." We ran to the shipyard and ran up to a sleek ship with a purple stripe across the length and twin fish across the bow. "I present the Purple Pices! Isn't she beautiful?"

"This ship is sweet! How'd you afford something like this?" I asked as we rushed on to prepare the ship to set sail.

"I could never afford a ship like this, it was the prize I won in my race against that navy loser. Only he was probably never actually planning giving it to me."

"Wait is this the same ship he raced you in? If so shouldn't we be taking the ship you beat him in? Wouldn't that be faster?"

"No way! My ship is a piece of junk. The only reason this ship lost is because I wasn't steering it!" Green hair said as he grabbed the helm. "I'll have you know I'm the best helmsman in the West Blue! No scratch that, the whole world!"

As he made his declaration we made our way out to sea with Navy ships starting to make their pursuit. As he sailed I could see that such a declaration wasn't all talk. He effortlessly navigated through the blockade that the Navy was setting up. The ship moved as if it was an extension of his own body, it was almost as if they were flying on the water. In no time the Navy were distant dots on the horizon behind them.

"Whoa! That was incredible! You weren't kidding. That settles it! You have to join my crew! Will you be my helmsman?" I asked extending my hand towards him.

"I don't know if I want to start a life of piracy, but honestly I guess it's too late for that. Sure I'll join you. So where can we find the rest of your crew?" He said as he shook my hand. "The names Yuma by the way, Cortez Yuma."

"Nice to meet ya Yuma. My name is Buster Gaileo." Hearing his cool name made me regret making up such a random name earlier. "And I don't have anyone else in my crew. I just decided to be a pirate today."

"What you mean you just decided to become a pirate to help out someone who you didn't even know their name? Are you crazy?"

"You say that but you kinda did the same thing. Anyway it's nothing that special, I just wanted to go out to sea to have a fun adventure. If people call me a pirate or whatever that's fine. I just wanna to what I want. And in that moment, I wanted to help you. That's all there is to it."

"Ha! You're a pretty strange guy but I respect it. Set out to have a fun adventure at sea, that's a pretty vague goal."

"Yeah I guess, you got any kinda goal you're aiming for?"

"Ever since I was a little kid I've felt most at home behind the wheel of a ship. I've always wanted to know what it's like to sail a ship all the way around the world. The only person in the world who's ever done it was the helmsman on Gold Roger's crew. If I had a goal I guess that'd be it."

"Sailing around the world huh? Sounds like a pretty fun adventure to me. I guess our goals line up perfectly." I said as we bumped fists. And with that my impromptu pirate crew was formed. Our next destination the Grand Line!
