Chapter 3: Ancient Life
3rd POV
Millions of years passed as the Primordials did as most nearly mindless beings did, they fought like children in a small sandbox. While the two, Oera and Serava did get along, they were generally peaceful, and even they had moments in which they acted like their brothers. Then there were the moments Melga and Rava met, which was as if a storm concentrated all its lighting down on a gigantic volcano.
The collision of power between these four would force the currently unnamed world to shift and change rapidly in response. Life would undergo rapid change and evolution due to the influx of their own power and magic.
The primordial plants would eventually make their way to land and this wouldn't be the only type of life to develop as a plethora of sea life came about as well. Sea Creatures of all sizes and shapes with their own...interesting eating habits all predicted by Volra who orbited the planet like its two moons.
Only they were a bit further away as its massive size would eventually interfere with the planet's tides and climate. Their natural red mana emission did enough of that already, and any more would only be detrimental to its growth. So they kept themselves at a safe distance, making sure it would keep any potential harm near zero percent.
It watched the world for years on end, seeing the change in both animals and plant life yet never seeing any form of intelligence/sapience develop only the same animalistic instincts. Seeing this they began to consult the possible timelines and pathways present to Volra at the moment.
[Pathway to Mortal life acquired, give a basic understanding of the world and intelligence to current primoridals]
[Allow them to change and grow, forceful hand acquired to succeed]
Then those same black tendrils that gave birth to the primordials years ago came and charged rapidly towards Earth. Each one chased after the primordials who tried to swat them away, to destroy them some had a bit more luck than others but most eventually relented and the tendrils were successfully attached to them.
The same energy that helped create them was now being added to them once more, increasing their overall intelligence. It was gifting them with knowledge of the vast world around them to make them understand what they were and what this world must become.
Both Oera and Serava accept their role, representing the more gentle part of nature even if they hold great power over this world. Meanwhile, both Melga and Rava refuse to accept this truth, for they are natural disasters incarnate and would show Volra that perhaps a strong hand to help things along would be useful.
[Reorganziing data, Dark and Light Primordials required]
[Intelligence surpassing the others also requires power to suppress]
[More Data required, compiling Data gained from universal scan]
[Inspiration from Planet Earth and Planet Dira, initiating creation process once current task is complete]
It would then put all its energy into giving the proper amount of intelligence to the current four primordials. Eventually, the black tendrils separate themselves, and while the two calmer Primordials began experimenting with their abilities, seeing how far they could go, changing the world in a positive way, helping the life already there find places to be safe and protected against their still raging brothers who have not changed much beyond what has been given to them.
Melga still destroying like a Volcano and flowing like the lava that comes from it. Rava storms only grew in strength and size. Its storms now cover much of what most would call the northern hemisphere. Claiming territory like a wild animal, keeping out their fellow primordial away, and strangely enough, Volra watched large sections of the planet start to float up.
The machine-like entity analyzed the material and found that the material when in contact with Rava's lighting was magnetic and was repeling itself off the ground. Creating a series of floating islands that housed their own life...that would take some time to try and get used to now having started their own divergent evolutionary pathway.
All the while Volra took its time, using all its power and Intelligence to artificially create Primordials of Light and Darkness seeing that they would be required to help keep the more unruly ones at bay.
Yet hidden from Volra's sight, the first animals took their first step, those that would eventually become the prehistoric life that would spread across the planet. They would feed on either the basic plant life or on one another. While for now, they resembled fish with legs or gigantic crustaceans, basic things they would soon separate from one another and create a large array of beings.
All the while a few creatures clung to the floating island created by Rava dying in mass droves but some survived. These would become the dominant lifeforms, claiming the island as their own all under the mercy of Rava who gleefully devoured the corpses taking in their mana but leaving the flesh and bones to any scavengers who wished for them.
Truly a chaotic world, one that Volra predicted from the analysis of the various possible timelines, although it did require some fine-tuning every once in a while. That was why they were creating two artificial primordial, as it would be one of the best ways to keep a check on things without their destructive help as their black tendrils were small enough and far away from the red mana to be...helpful.
These two would serve as instruments of control, allowing the world to peacefully settle eventually. Then new gods and monsters would be born soon enough either created from the flesh and power of the Primordials or through mortal belief. Either one would work in Volra's favor, as the planet and its species' prosperity would be all that mattered.
It even knew that fighting would force adaptation but the world right now was unsuited for such a task, it was too young. The species on it would die out if the fighting continued, no matter how fast their genetic mutations were, no matter how much mana they could absorb if the rampage of Melga and Rava did not cease they would all die out, leaving only the four and Volra.
Far above the planet, Volra would extend their wing-like structures and begin the creation of the two primordial physical bodies having completed creating their personalities and the gifts they would have.
