Chapter 340

The city of Narcone was humongous. It was on par with Earth’s busiest metropolises but the buildings had a uniqueness that exuded the exotic and mysterious aura and adventure that could only be seen in movies, games, and animes. The city was still far away, but Mark could already see the towering spires that brought his blood to boil.

Mark already unsummoned Yoda since Hamil told him that he would need to register in the government offices of the city of Narcone before they could summon Yoda and use it for the dragon roller coaster. The circus leader also informed him that they would stay in the city for a month maybe even two since the circus was planning to milk the city of their hard-earned coins.

Mark then asked Hamil if they would encounter any problems related to a city like thieves, or gangs demanding protection payments or something like that. Hamil told him that as in any city, there would be thieves but the circus knew how to guard itself since they were very experienced with that sort of thing. Regarding gangs, usually, they didn’t bother the circus since like all traveling entertainment groups, they would only temporarily stay in the city and circuses in particular had hidden strength and it was a well-known myth that most circuses had hidden masters among them.

Hamil also informed them that the last time they had visited Narcone was around seven years ago so they were not up to date with the happenings in the city and it was always like that.

Mark was also given a list of movies that Hamil was planning to for the people of Narcone to see and when he looked at the list, he saw the movies there were already in the laptop that Mark lent to Hamil for theater purposes.

During the days that they were traveling from Nicholas's village, Mark didn’t dungeon dive since he was feeling a little lazy. He just stayed with the kids to play with them or watch animes and movies and read books.

He did kill the bosses so he could gather items and he received one mythical orange item and five legendary purple items. They were in his inventory but he hadn’t inspected them in detail. The only that he did inspect was the mythical orange item. It was called the Mythical Armor of Vagus.

The Mythical Armor of Vagus would give the user one hundred vitality, a whopping one hundred and fifty defense and it had fifty durability. It had a powerful defensive spell called Fortress of Vagus that would let the user cast a very powerful area-of-effect defense spell. It would summon an ethereal fortress that could cover fifty by fifty to one hundred by one hundred feet area effect that would provide one thousand defense. That means that the caster could choose the size of the ethereal fortress when he cast the spell.  The best thing about the spell was it would work on physical as well as magical attacks.

Mark decided to slot his three mythical items, the Staff of the Archangel Vikander, the Bracers of Vulcan, and the last one, the Armor of Vagus to his auto-equip slots although he didn’t have an auto-equip slot for weapons which was really not a problem since he could just retrieve the weapon from his inventory.

At first, he was planning to assign his mythical items to his auto-equip slots once he collected a full set of mythical items but since they were entering a huge powerful magical city, Mark thought that it would be best to be prepared.

Hamil also informed Mark that there were three dungeons inside the city of Narcone. The first one was just like the dungeon at Culano Village which was for beginner adventurers. It was simply called Novice’s Dungeon and had twenty floors. The second one was a more powerful dungeon. The people in the city called that dungeon the Library of Monderro since the first floor was a safe zone and the library of a long-dead mage called Monderro. The unfortunate thing was no one could take the books from the shelves since the moment someone tried, the books would disappear from their hands and reappear back on the shelves.

The good thing about the Library of Monderro Dungeon was one of the rewards for defeating the final monsters on the last floor was the victors could choose three books from the library and all of the books contained high-level spells. According to the city of Narcone’s history, only twelve parties manage to defeat the final boss of the said dungeon.

The last dungeon was a very powerful dungeon and the people in the city called it the Labyrinth of Cormantura. It was called that since when the dungeon spawned a thousand years ago, the name of the dungeon was written above the dungeon portal.

The dungeon had ninety levels and in the history of the city of Narcone, only one party was able to reach the final boss located on the last floor of the labyrinth. According to Hamil, his grandfather told him that although the Labyrinth of Cormantura was a powerful dungeon, any archmage worthy of their title could defeat the final monsters on the last floor without any problem it was just powerful people wouldn’t bother since there were more dungeon in other places that had better rewards and Hamil’s grandfather also told the circus leader that although there was only one party that was recorded that was successful in completing the said dungeon, more than likely, there were more that wasn’t recorded.

The good thing about the dungeon was any party who reached a specific floor, as long as one single member of the original party was included in that party, they could portal to the last floor the original party had conquered.

That meant that some people who managed to reach a high-level floor stopped diving and started a business of bringing new parties to any floors they wanted up to the last floor that the business owner reached.

It was a lucrative business since powerful parties who just arrived in the city didn’t want to bother starting from the beginning of the dungeon and those who reached the high-level floor almost always left the city afterward so those who remained were original citizens of the city who reached high-level floors or those who settled in the city.

Mark was also worried if they would encounter any issue regarding their RV or the movie theater for that matter and Hamil said that it was expected of a powerful wizard to have magical contraptions and the circus had always had peculiar things that most people would enjoy so the things they had that would be questionable if other people had them would be normal or even expected inside the circus.

He could see that Hamil was particularly gleeful in opening the movie theater, the Yoda roller coaster, and the newly created portable haunted house once they set up the circus inside the city. Mark could see that the circus leader was already imagining the countless gold coins they would earn during their stay in the city.

Hamil also told Mark that the city had a well-known Plaza that entertainers like themselves could set up. The plaza was called The Plaza of Laughters and it was huge and could fit at least eight circuses that were the same size as theirs. As a matter of fact, according to the scout that Hamil sent, there were already four circuses that were set up in the city but one of them was leaving already so once they reached the city, there would be four circuses remaining including theirs.
