Delayed Transfer

Chapter 344

The second day they arrived in Narcone, the twins were excited to visit the other circuses. Rendira, their tutor arrived to inform Mark that she would need to help her family ensure that their business was set up without any issues, at least for the first few days.

The twins were giddy at learning they didn’t have to study for a few days. So after breakfast, they pestered Mark into going to the other circuses.

“You can’t go yet. By the law of the city of Narcone, the circuses could only open at one in the afternoon,” Nedertu informed Mark and the twins to their dismay.

“Even if they’re open early, we still wouldn’t be able to go there this early since we do have work of our own. I would need to conjure products that Melina would sell later.”

“Can we go outside then to look for our friends to play with?” Isaac asked.

“It’s okay Mark, I’ll go ahead and look out for them while you go to Milena’s RV to conjure the items that we would sell later,” Lisa said while smiling.

To everyone’s surprise, Liriel also wanted to go with the twins so Lisa picked her up and followed the twins outside.

In the meantime, Mark followed Milena to the other RV so he could begin replicating the items they would sell later. Nedertu went to Zenethor’s zoo to help his friends set it up.

While he was replicating the items, Mark was talking with Milena.

“Did you earn a lot of coins yesterday?”

“We did earn a lot and I’m sure that by the end of the week when it’s time for the circus to receive its part, Hamil would be very happy with the amount.”

“I’m sure that we would receive a huge amount as well from the movie theater and Yoda Roller Coaster.”

“Yes, I’m very happy. Everyone would be able to save enough coins for their retirement.”

“What is usually the plan of a circus member who wants to retire?”

“They will usually find a city they took a fancy to and once they’re ready to retire, they would go to that city, town, or village, purchase a house, and settle there.”

After Mark replicated all the non-consumable items, he began replicating the food according to Milena’s list so he began with boxes of donuts. Colin and Norleen were busy arranging all the products. All the space in the RV was filled to the brim including the bunk beds and the master bedroom.

It took Mark almost a couple of hours before he was done with the replication. He then went outside to roam around. He first visited the elven sister’s stall.

“Mentorra, did you earn a lot of coins?”

“We did, but usually, the stalls for certain products would only last for at most a week since we do have a limited amount of products except for the street food since we could purchase the ingredients in the city itself. After that, everyone would focus on the different acts.”

Since it was still early, around ten in the morning and the children were being looked after by Lisa, Mark decided to go to the city to check what he could find there, at least the nearer streets.

Mark was surprised to learn that the Plaza of Laughter was really in the middle of the city since the first street that he stumbled into was the one that sold magical items like magic artifacts, spellbooks, enchanted items, and such things.

He remember his plan to purchase an enchanted item that would allow him to communicate with someone from the inside of his dungeon so he could return the enchanted item that he borrowed from the elven sisters. Although he already had one which was the lover’s ring that he temporarily gave to Milena so he could talk to her in case of emergency while he was inside the dungeon, it would be a good idea to have a second means of communication.

While he was walking outside the magic shops heading to the largest shop in the street, Mark remembered that he hadn’t assigned his skill points yet and he was planning to assign them to the Warp Gate skill.

Mark then sadly thought of the fact that if was high-level enough before he left Earth, maybe the Warp Gate skill would have been powerful enough to establish a connection between this planet and Earth. He wasn’t sure if that was possible but decided not to think about it anymore or he would just get depressed but he did miss his friends.

He then thought of Natasha but knew that it wouldn’t have worked out between them even if he could travel back to her city anytime he wanted. Natasha had too much responsibility to her family and she was dutiful enough that she wouldn’t have been able to defy her family for too long before she succumbed to their plans, including her marriage.

When Mark arrived at the largest store in the street, the saw that the store was simply called The Wizard Station. He entered the shop and went directly to a counter.

“Good morning. I’m looking for a magical artifact that would let me communicate with someone even if I’m in another dimension. Do you have something like that?” Mark asked the man that was behind the counter.

“We do have several products that have that function. Please follow me, sir. My name is Rommelio.”

“I’m Mark, a mage with the circus that just arrived.”

Rommelio led Mark to a private booth and then left shortly after. After a few minutes, the man returned carrying a small chest.

“Currently we have three products with that capabilities,” Rommelio said while he opened the chest.

The man took out a pair of jade-like tablets, a pair of sea shells, and two tiny notebooks.

“The pair of sea shells is a tool that will let you communicate with the one who’s holding the other shell by talking to its opening but you can only do that once a day and you will have to plan the specific time with the other person since there’s no outward signal if the other person is ready to talk. This one cost one thousand mana stones.”

Mark inspected the sea shells. They were pretty but because of their function, he would not buy it since his plan was for the other person to communicate with him during emergencies.

“These pair of notebooks will let you read what the other person has written and you will know if they wrote something since the note on the cover will turn red. This one cost two thousand mana stones. The jade tablets would change color to red and will make a bell tone for three seconds if the other person would like to convey that there’s an emergency but they wouldn’t be able to communicate with you. The jade tablet cost five hundred mana stones.”

Mark thought that the jade tablet was the best one and it was similar to the elven sister’s artifact.

“I would like this jade tablet. Do you accept trade?”

“We do and I assume you would trade an enchanted item?”

Mark answered affirmatively then the man put all the items back in the chest and told him that he would call someone who could inspect a magical artifact.
