Delayed Transfer

Mark arrived in the RV late in the afternoon and noticed that Milena was just cleaning up the stall having sold out all of the items again. When she saw him, she mentioned that the twins and Liriel were having a nap. Since that was the case, he decided to visit some of his friends. He went to the elven sisters’ cart but when he arrived there, the sisters were not present. He then went to Norunta’s cart and saw that although her fortune-telling tent was open, there were no customers currently so he asked Sunetta if he could talk to her mistress.

Sunetta went inside the tent to inform her mistress first then she invited Mark inside.

“What do you want to talk about, young mage?” Norunta asked then she cackled.

“I’m seeking advice regarding allowing the children to dive the dungeon with me allowing them to increase their power as young as they are. Is it a good idea to allow something like that to happen?”

“I’m guessing that I’m not the first one you asked for advice regarding this and I’m also guessing that most if not all of them informed you that it was okay as long as you can make sure that the kids would remain safe but you kept asking advice as if you’re afraid. Even though many people already told you their opinion, there’s still hesitation in you in allowing your charges to grow more powerful so young,” Norunta paused for a bit then sipped something from her cup.

“I’m curious. Those who hesitate in these kinds of situations usually came from a place of safety where their children were protected and allowed to grow up before handing them any responsibility but your power seemed like you came from a place of conflict and your desperate strive to remain happy, enjoying your life here in the circus seemed like you came from a place of violence and is now attempting to forget all of that, but this I will tell you. This world is violent and filled with monsters and you know that so the power to protect someone you love is a blessing and if you can impart this blessing to your charges, I say go for it,” Norunta said then she cackled again.

When Mark heard Norunta’s assumptions about him which were full of mistakes confirmed the fact that she was not as wise as the wise witch she pretended to be but she was still correct in a way regarding this world.

He didn’t know why he kept finding ways to justify allowing the kids to level up but ultimately, it was still the kids' decision. Mark could bring them to the dungeon but when they get tired of it, they would just ask him to return and that’s it. He gave Norunta a box of chocolate cake as a thank you and the witch and her two apprentices, Sunetta and a new one that he couldn’t remember the name of was gleefully looking at the delicious cake.

Anyway, there was still plenty of time before they dove the Novices Dungeon to explore it and the twins were still busy enjoying their Star Wars spaceship fleet play with their friends. When he returned to the RV, the kids were still napping so he watched some anime using a tablet and Bluetooth earphones.

Soon, the bedroom door opened and when Liriel and the twins saw him, they ran towards him and hugged him. During these moments, Mark knew that he hadn’t made the mistake of forming a family with the twins and Liriel. Once he was able to return to his world for a visit, he would make sure to bring them with him so they could visit all the interesting places on Earth.

The twins babbled about the play that they did before their nap and Liriel was just giggling while saying Mark’s name. After the twins finished telling their stories, Mark told the twins something.

“Tomorrow, we’ll go to the tailor to check out your Jedi and Sith costume!”

The twins were excited and kept saying that they would win the costume contest and would add the electric cart to their fleet of spaceships.

“I love your confidence but I already told Hamil that if you win, the prize would be given to someone else of your choosing.”

“What! It’s not fair!” Isaac complained and Aaron copied his brother’s expression.

The funny part was that Liriel also copied her brothers’ expressions and they all looked cute wearing the same faces so he immediately took a picture of them using the tablet that he was holding and the camera flash startled the kids.

“What do you mean, it’s not fair? I can give you the carts anytime you want and I only stopped at three since three is plenty already,” Mark said to the twins.

The kids ignored what he said and asked what the bright light was. Mark then showed the picture of the twins and Liriel on the tablet and their eyes grew big when they saw their faces.

“What is that Mark?!” Aaron asked.

“It’s called a photograph,” He answered.

“Did you capture our soul or something?” Isaac worriedly asked.

Mark laughed and asked the twins where they heard that folklore. He was amused to hear the same thing from the kids and thought that some superstitions transcend dimensions.

“Norunta once told the circus kids a story about a witch capturing the soul of naughty kids,” Isaac answered.

“Well, this is nothing like that. It only captures your image and not only that it can also capture a video of you, just like the movies,” Mark said.

He then replicated a tablet and taught the twins how to take pictures and videos and where to find them once the images and video clips were recorded. Since the kids were very bright, they managed to learn how to navigate the tablet quickly. They then asked to borrow the tablet and when he told the twins that they could have the tablet, they ran outside immediately after kissing and thinking Mark. They kept shouting that they would make their own Star Wars movies.

Liriel ran to follow her brothers so he followed the kids outside but then Lisa told him that she would look after the kids so he returned inside the RV to rest.

Mark decided to continue watching an anime but soon he fell asleep on the sofa. He was woken up by the twins’ loud voices and when he checked the time, he slept for about an hour and it was already around seven in the evening.

The food that Milena cooked was already on the table but all of them were busy looking at the tablet that he gave the twins. When he joined them, he saw that Nedertu, Milena, and the others were looking at the pictures and the videos that the twins had taken using the tablet and was surprised at how good they were.

But then Mark overheard that although the pictures were mostly taken by the twins, the videos were taken by Deo. Hami’s kid assigned himself as the director and cameraman for their makeshift Star Wars movie attempts.

“Okay, enough of that. Let's eat first and I’ll teach you how to edit the videos you capture so you can make it look like a movie instead of several tiny video clips.”

The twins were excited to learn that there was a way to stitch the video clip together so they ate very fast and urged Mark to eat fast as well. He scolded the twins and told them to slow down or they would choke.

After dinner, Mark brought out a laptop and attached the tablet to it to copy the video clips that the kids had taken. Then using some advanced video editing software, he stitched the videos together. Mark saw that not only the twins were watching, but Nedertu, Milena, and her assistants were watching as well and since everyone was interested in learning how to do it, he cast the laptop screen onto the television so everyone could see.
