Dimensional Guild: Almighty Chuunibyou

Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Mission

After introductions were done, Rozen and the group returned to the guild. Once inside, Rozen began explaining the mission they were about to undertake in more detail. The two listened intently to his explanation.

"Ano! Kaichou-san, what about our world? I mean, we suddenly vanished without a trace, right? Can we go back, even for a moment, to explain our absence?" Makoto raised his hand, voicing the question that had been troubling him. Saeko, standing nearby, unconsciously nodded in agreement but paused for a moment, letting out a sigh of relief afterward.

My world is already in a zombie apocalypse. There's no one I need to explain my absence to—not for a very long time.

Saeko thought grimly, recalling the sudden outbreak that had plunged her world into chaos mere hours ago.

Maybe by joining this organization, I can save my world...

Clenching her fists tightly, Saeko's eyes burned with determination and resolve.

"As for that issue, don't worry," Rozen replied. "I just checked with the system, and it informed me that the timelines in your respective worlds have been manipulated to prevent any problems from arising while you're away."

Makoto let out a relieved sigh, patting his chest in gratitude upon hearing that.

Truthfully, Rozen had been concerned about this issue as well. After all, among all the members here, only he and Saeko were dealing with significant ongoing crises in their respective worlds. Knowing the system had already resolved this brought him immense relief. Even so, Rozen wasn't too worried. With his cheat-level abilities, he was confident he could breeze through the mission. Even if it turned out to be challenging, he remained relatively calm—after all, the Honkai crisis in his world was still in its early stages.

"Alright then, System! Quickly generate the mission!"

[Ding! Understood! Generating a random mission by selecting a random cosmology from the Omniverse...]

[Ding! Mission generated! Please access the mission to begin. For more details, the Host can click on the Details menu!]

With an excited grin full of anticipation, Rozen clicked on the mission, eager to see what kind of challenge awaited him and his team.

However, the moment he read the details, his expression changed drastically. His face twisted into something hideous, as though he had just seen something horrifyingly unlucky.

"FUCK!!! WHAT THE HELL IS THIS MISSION?! THIS ISN'T A MISSION—IT'S SUICIDE! DAMN YOU, SYSTEM!!!" Rozen cursed loudly, startling his companions. They had no idea why their leader was suddenly so furious.

SON OF A BITCH?! LOOK AT THIS MISSION! WHAT THE HELL?! I HAVE TO GO TO THE SCP COSMOLOGY AND DESTROY EVERY SCP THERE?! DOES THE SYSTEM THINK I'M A MULTIVERSAL BEING OR SOMETHING?! I STRUGGLED JUST TO KILL A HERRSCHER LAST TIME!

Rozen raged inwardly, staring at the mission details with growing frustration. The difficulty wasn't just "HELL"-it was better described as outright "IMPOSSIBLE." Considering the sheer absurdity of the SCP cosmology and his current strength, completing such a mission seemed entirely unattainable. He was almost certain he'd meet his end there.

God only knows what those Supreme Beings in the SCP cosmology would do to him if he dared set foot in their domain! He was confident that the moment he entered, those beings-far beyond Multiversal level in strength- would immediately sense his presence as an outsider. There would be no escape.

"K-Kaichou-san! Is everything okay?" Makoto asked nervously, concern evident in his voice.

Rozen took a deep breath to calm his racing thoughts. As the leader, he couldn't afford to panic in front of his members.

"Don't worry, it's just a small problem. I'll solve it as quickly as possible!" he replied with an awkward smile. However, that strained expression only made both members feel an uneasy knot in their stomachs.

SYSTEM! GET OUT HERE RIGHT NOW! CHANGE THE MISSION CONTENT IMMEDIATELY! WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING, PICKING A MISSION LIKE THIS?! I'M STARTING TO THINK YOU'RE TRYING TO KILL ME ON PURPOSE!

[Ding! Apologies, Host! It appears the system accidentally selected a mission that is impossible for you to complete. I will now generate a new mission!]

Good! You'd better fix this! You almost got us killed!

Rozen exhaled deeply in relief. At least now, he and his members were spared from certain doom.

[Ding! Aborting the current mission! Generating a new mission by selecting a random cosmology from the Omniverse...]

[Ding! Mission created! Host can now view the new mission!]

Good! You'd better not give me something as absurd as the last one!

Rozen opened the new mission, and...

"FUCK!!! THIS IS JUST AS BAD, DAMN IT!!!" he yelled, cursing once more. His outburst caused his two members to exchange uneasy glances, both thinking the same thing.

It seems like Kaichou is in serious trouble!

"Ughh..." Bocchi, who had fainted earlier, began to stir, jolted awake by Rozen's loud voice.

She frowned slightly, her eyelids fluttering open as she groggily pushed herself upright.

Still half-asleep, Bocchi rubbed her eyes, her mind not fully registering the strange situation around her.

"Are you alright? Don't worry, we're not bad people," said an unfamiliar voice in front of her.

Hearing the gentle tone, Bocchi's foggy mind snapped to alertness, and her body stiffened.

"I-I-I-I..." she stammered nervously, staring wide-eyed at Saeko, who was smiling warmly at her. A cold sweat began to bead on Bocchi's forehead as her anxiety surged.

"Relax. We won't hurt you, okay? Just take a deep breath and calm down," Saeko said reassuringly.

Bocchi nodded rapidly, her expression still panicked. Seeing her words weren't quite effective, Saeko could only sigh and place a hand on her own forehead in exasperation.

Following the instruction, Bocchi tried to take a deep breath, but her nerves got the better of her. Instead of calming down, she ended up sounding like someone struggling with asthma.

"Hey! Calm down! Calm down! Just breathe slowly, okay?" Saeko quickly moved to comfort Bocchi, gently patting and rubbing her back in an attempt to help her relax.

Realizing how out of control she was, Bocchi immediately tried to follow Saeko's advice, forcing herself to breathe deeply and calm down. Fortunately, after some effort, she managed to regain some composure.

Both of them sighed in relief, but Bocchi instantly tensed up again, her nerves flaring as she became acutely aware of the other people around her.

What do I do? What do I do?! There are other people here! People! Strangers! Right next to me!!!

Caught in the whirlwind of her internal panic, Bocchi's thoughts spiraled while Saeko, oblivious to her struggle, began introducing herself.

"Hello! From now on, we'll be comrades! My name is Saeko Busujima," she said warmly. "The man with glasses over there is Makoto Misumi, and the one making that ridiculous face is our leader, Rozen Itsuki."

"A-A-Ah! I-I-I mean! M-My n-name is H-Hitori G-Gotoh! I-It's n-nice to m-meet y-you!!!" Bocchi stammered, her voice shaky as she bowed repeatedly, clearly overwhelmed.

"Nice to meet you too, Gotoh-san!" Saeko replied with a friendly smile, bowing slightly in return.

Seeing Saeko's kind response only made Bocchi more flustered, her anxiety tightening its grip as she fidgeted nervously.

Makoto, noticing Saeko had mentioned his name during the conversation, walked over and formally introduced himself to Bocchi in person.

This, predictably, caused our socially anxious pink-haired girl to become even more flustered. Her nerves spiked, and she nearly fainted on the spot.

The reason for Bocchi's extreme fear of interacting with others? This version of Bocchi had a fate far more tragic than her original counterpart.

Unlike the original Bocchi, who didn't suffer malice from society, this Bocchi had shut herself away from the world since middle school. She had been relentlessly bullied by her classmates, leaving deep emotional scars. Because of this, her fear of social interaction was much worse than that of her original self.

For years, the only people she communicated with were her family members. This was the first time in a very long while that she had interacted with strangers, making her anxiety even more intense.

Meanwhile, back with Rozen, he had been cursing and rejecting a string of impossible missions, including tasks set in the Shinza Bansho Series, Instant Death Isekai, and other high-tier, dangerous cosmologies. Finally, the system relented and granted him special permission to create and choose his own mission.

This development brought Rozen overwhelming relief and joy. At last, he could select a cosmology that matched his abilities and preferences.

Hmm… what cosmology should I choose? Do you have any good ideas, Great Sage?

Feeling conflicted and overwhelmed by the vast array of intriguing options, Rozen eventually gave up and decided to consult his most trusted assistant, Great Sage, for advice.

[Answer. After filtering all known cosmologies, selecting Tensura, Danmachi, and Frieren would be the best options. These three cosmologies offer the fastest power growth among all available choices.]

Tensura, Danmachi, and Frieren?

Rozen was taken aback when Frieren was mentioned.

I'm surprised you included Frieren, you know? I mean, aside from the first two, wouldn't it take a long time to become strong in Frieren's cosmology? Plus, would I even be able to use mana there, considering my human physiology is likely different from theirs?

[Answer. Affirmative. Among the three recommended cosmologies, Frieren does indeed have the slowest progression, and it's highly probable that Host would initially be unable to use mana there. However, with the privileges granted by the system for each mission, this limitation would be negated.]

Ah, right! I completely forgot about that!

Rozen's face lit up as he realized he had overlooked a crucial detail.

With those privileges and Great Sage's assistance, I could probably grow strong in no time!

His expression shifted as he pieced everything together.

As for the privilege Great Sage had mentioned earlier, it was a special boon granted by the system to all members undertaking missions. These privileges were tailored to the chosen cosmology, ranging from enhanced talents and powers to other unique advantages.

Rozen was confident that this privilege would likely allow his body to adapt to match the physiology of the people in Frieren's cosmology. Coupled with Great Sage's abilities, he could achieve remarkable growth in a short amount of time.

After all, Great Sage was incredibly overpowered. A Unique Skill of that rank couldn't possibly be weak in the Tensura cosmology. Nearly every wielder of a Unique Skill had immense potential to rise as either a hero or a demon lord—both considered top-tier powerhouses in that cosmology!

I see, but… hmm… what should I choose? All three options are great...

Rozen found himself conflicted. All three cosmologies had their merits, making it difficult for him to decide.

Maybe Tensura? I'd probably gain a Unique Skill as soon as I arrive there.

He considered this and almost chose Tensura. But then he hesitated. While the choice had significant benefits, it also came with considerable risks.

No, it's way too dangerous there! There are Demon Kings and other ridiculously overpowered entities! Even if I assume they wouldn't treat me as poorly as the Supreme Beings in the SCP cosmology, I can't gamble on such a slim chance!

As the leader, Rozen couldn't afford to endanger his team's lives unnecessarily. With that thought in mind, he immediately eliminated Tensura as an option.

So that leaves Danmachi and Frieren, huh?

I guess Frieren is the safer choice! Though Danmachi seems relatively safe too, there are still strong and enigmatic beings there—like the Gods! With their divine abilities, such as Freya's rumored ability to see the souls of humans, I'm certain they'd detect any abnormalities in my party!

After weighing the dangers and benefits, Rozen ultimately decided to choose Frieren.

"System! I choose the mission in the Frieren cosmology!"

[Ding! Request accepted! Creating a new mission with the chosen cosmology as the destination…]

[Ding! Complete! Host may now accept and begin the mission. A privilege has been generated based on the chosen cosmology. Host can assign it to themselves and their team members as desired!]
