Fire Chief vs. Surgeon: A Tale of Relentless Pursuit

Chapter 8: Chapter 8 What are you up to?

At that moment, the X-ray reports that had been taken earlier came out.

Lu Jing took a close look, and unexpectedly, he was quite startled by what he saw.

Both individuals had varying degrees of internal injuries. Although not considered severe, it would be quite painful if they were to fully manifest.

Especially Jiang Ye, who had at least six or seven chronic ailments in his body.

Throughout the entire preliminary examination, neither of them had said a word or even exchanged a glance.

Lu Jing had already taken out his phone and dialed:

"Xiao Tang, get ready, we have two patients with fractures coming to our department."

"By the way, is Dr. Yu still busy? If he's not, could you ask him to take one patient? I can't manage both."

"Okay, thank you."

Jiang Ye, at some point, had lifted his head, his expression inscrutable.

After hanging up, Lu Jing was not oblivious to the man's gaze but chose to ignore it and started coordinating with the emergency department.

Dr. Yu soon arrived in a hurry:

"Mr. Lu, where is the patient?" he asked.

Lu Jing pointed:

"Over there." His tone was very calm.

"Oh, okay."

Jiang Ye sat in the wheelchair, his fingers tightly clenched, his expression turning icy.

Dr. Yu was initially going to help push the wheelchair but was outright rejected by the man:

"No need to trouble yourself, I can walk on my own."

Saying this, he stood up from the wheelchair, his tone clearly not very pleasant.

At this, the emergency doctor quickly called out:

"Hey, hey, hey, you can't just walk around, you have injuries on your back!"

Injuries on his back?

Lu Jing's gaze shifted over, and upon seeing Jiang Ye's face, he was slightly startled: Is this man angry?

"I won't die!"

Indeed…

At this moment, a group of team members started advising:

"Captain Jiang, you should listen to the doctor."

"Yes, Captain Jiang."

Yet, the man coldly said again:

"My legs aren't broken!"

Lu Jing could tell there was more to it. He waved at Dr. Yu, who was indecisive about pushing or not pushing the wheelchair and then walked forward to the man, his gaze stern:

"What's all this racket? This is a hospital, not a place for you to throw a fit!"

As a medical professional, he really disliked those patients who didn't follow medical advice and were full of themselves.

The man's gaze, charged with a slight glow, was directed firmly at the woman, his presence overwhelming:

"Am I making a scene?" he countered.

The atmosphere grew tense, and the air seemed to fill with the smell of gunpowder.

The medical staff and a group of firefighters present all tensed up, genuinely afraid the two might start fighting.

After all, the expressions on both their faces were quite frightening!

"Captain Jiang, Dr. Lu is a lady, please be a bit more polite."

"We all know you didn't mean that, just talk nicely, no need to get upset."

The Little Nurse from the emergency department also tugged at the back of Lu Jing's white coat:

"Mr. Lu, stay calm!"

If there were a complaint, Mr. Lu would surely be penalized.

Unfortunately, this was the approach nearly all hospitals took!

Both were not impulsive people, and they soon calmed down.

Lu Jing, as a doctor, wouldn't just ignore someone, even if it were a stranger. He took a couple of deep breaths:

"Sit down! I'm only going to say this once."

On hearing this, Jiang Ye's robust physique swayed slightly before he finally sat down obediently.

After that, there were no more disruptions.

From the emergency department to the Orthopedics department on the 12th floor, no one spoke along the way.

Each of them didn't even dare to breathe too heavily.
