Chapter 15: Chapter 14: Meeting a Weird Duo

Seeing three students sprinting straight through the gate just before it closed was odd enough to catch the attention of others.

They pointed and snickered at the unusual scene.

'Who the hell is this guy?'

Kageyama silently wondered as he furrowed his eyebrows, watching Tsuna. His own breath was ragged after pushing himself as hard as he could to reach the gate.

He glanced at Hinata, who was also struggling to catch his breath, then turned his gaze back to Tsuna.

Unlike them, Tsuna's chest moved up and down in a steady rhythm.

It was clear that he was in better shape than either of them, which left Kageyama both surprised and confused as he mumbled, "...what in the world?"

"I... I won it..."

Hinata's voice broke through Kageyama's thoughts.

The orange-haired boy mumbled loudly enough for Kageyama to hear, and then, as if realizing his words, shouted excitedly, "Yes! I got through the gate faster than you, Kageyama!"

"Keuhk…"

Kageyama scowled. He hated to admit it, but Hinata was right. Still, his pride wouldn't let him accept defeat so easily.

Gritting his teeth, he shook his head and snapped, "No, it doesn't count!"

"Huh!? What do you mean!?"

"You dumbass, that guy won the race!" Kageyama pointed at Tsuna. "It doesn't count as your win."

"Kageyama, you bastard! Why are you bringing someone else into our race!?"

Meanwhile, Tsuna stood quietly, trying to regulate his breathing, which had grown heavier from the last sprint to catch up to the two loudmouths.

He wiped the sweat from his chin, glanced briefly at the arguing duo, and then, without a word, turned and walked into the school.

Tsuna completely ignored the two bickering at the gate until he heard something that made him stop.

"See, he didn't even look at us!"

"It just means he's got aura…"

"Grr…! Kageyama, why are you making stuff up like this?"

"What? Why would I? Don't you see his aura?"

"…He did have aura."

Kageyama smirked at Hinata's reluctant response and added, "You just got mogged."

"Huh!? Since we both lost, it's us who got mogged, you idiot!"

"…!"

Tsuna's face darkened at hearing those words, ones that had become popular among the younger generation.

He was part of the younger generation too and was even more familiar with these terms than anyone in the face of the earth.

Why?

Because he was the cause of it all!

'Did I just unintentionally ruin the whole generation?'

His light novel, Harry Poggers and the Rizzlers Stone, was the source of these terms!

At first, his novel wasn't very popular in the country. But the younger generation had picked it up, and before he knew it, the slang and vocabulary it introduced had spread far and wide, becoming part of everyday language.

However, the fact that it became everyday language caused a chain reaction that blew up his light novel, sending its popularity sky-high.

It made all generations aware of it, and the copies sold skyrocketed.

It was definitely something to celebrate since, at the same time, it solved his financial burdens. The hospital bills had been difficult to cover, especially with the rehabilitation program Junichi put him through.

Although his dad was adamant about paying the bills himself, Tsuna knew better. Their financial situation wouldn't allow them to cover the expenses without selling more of their already scarce assets—mainly a few inherited plots of land from his grandparents.

Only after seeing the sales numbers did Ichiro finally relent to Tsuna's request and allow him to pay the hospital bills himself.

Even then, Tsuna still had plenty of money to spare. That just went to show how much influence his light novels had on the country's culture.

'Whatever. Since I'm in the thick of it already, let's just ski through and let them freeze…'

Tsuna swallowed his embarrassment at hearing those words and continued on his way. He had decided to sell his soul to reap the benefits, swearing to push forward.

After all, he already had plans for a few more books in the series, starting with the one he's currently working on, Harry Poggers and the Chamber of Gooning.

However...

As Tsuna went through his school life and sat in the classroom, he realized he might have underestimated his influence a little bit.

Especially with the announcement of the second series, the readers, including those at Karasuno High, were getting excited.

How did he know that?

"Dude, rate my rizz this time..."

"Ugh, come on. You've been giving us L rizz all day."

"Oh, come on! This one's gonna be bussin'..."

"...Alright, bet."

Crack!

A loud cracking sound echoed through the classroom. The chatter stopped, and everyone turned to look at Tsuna, who sat there with his pencil broken in two.

"...?"

Confusion filled the room as they wondered what had gotten into him.

Ding!

Thankfully, the school bell rang, making the whole classroom bustle as students began chattering louder and grabbing their bags.

Tsuna's expression finally eased as he glanced at the time and muttered, "Thank God, I was about to lose my mind."

He quickly picked up his school bag and headed toward the gym to join in the club activity, if there was any.

Karasuno High was located in the middle of a beautiful landscape in the prefecture.

Although the school building itself was quite worn and old, the views and the vibe made up for it. Tsuna enjoyed the late afternoon sunbathing in the countryside high school building as he walked toward the side of the school, where the gym was located.

Similarly to the school buildings, the gym's silhouette came into view, and it was just as worn. Tsuna could tell it hadn't been renovated since the club's glory days, which were long past in an earlier generation.

"They'd be surprised to see me..."

And as he was getting nearer...

"Huh?"

"Tsuna?"

A surprised voice called out from behind. Tsuna turned to see Daichi and Tanaka staring at him in shock.

"Speaking of the devil," Tsuna mumbled to himself before greeting them both with a smile, "Yo, what's up?"

"What do you mean, what's up, you bastard!?"

Tanaka stormed over and grabbed him by the collar, attempting to strangle him. Tsuna, unbothered by the effort, didn't budge an inch.

The bald-headed boy continued angrily, "Are you finally coming to the club or something?"

"Yeah..."

"...?"

Tanaka unconsciously let go of his grip, his face twisting in confusion as he stared at Tsuna in disbelief.

Even Daichi, who was about to greet Tsuna properly, let out a surprised, "Huh?"

They both knew Tsuna wasn't allowed to play any intensive sports yet. To do so, he'd need to use both hands, and his right hand wasn't exactly in a condition for that.

But hearing that he was coming back could only mean one thing.

"Ohh!!!!"

Their faces immediately lit up with excitement as Daichi asked, "Are you finally allowed to use your right hand, Tsuna?"

"Shit, are we really having you back now? Hahaha!"

Tanaka laughed heartily, throwing an arm around Tsuna's shoulder in excitement.

"N--"

"Daichi! Tanaka!"

Tsuna was about to open his mouth and reply, but before he could do that, a loud voice came from over by the gym.

"Eh? Tsuna?"

It was Suga, their setter, looking at Tsuna with confusion.

Suga knew Tsuna was rarely seen at school after classes were over since his rehabilitation was in a hospital in the city center. That was why he asked, "Why are you here?"

"Kekeke..."

"About that..."

However, Tanaka and Daichi suddenly grinned and appeared beside Suga.

Both of them dragged him over and explained to their setter what was going on. Hearing the explanation, Suga's eyes lit up with excitement as he looked at Tsuna and asked in a hopeful tone, "Tsuna, are they not talking bullshit?"

"Yeah, I'm back..."

Tsuna chuckled, watching their antics. It brought back so much nostalgia, reminding him of how often he had seen this a year ago.

"Whoaaa!"

All three of them shouted excitedly, losing the ability to form proper words. Instead, they made weird noises like some old tribal people deep in the forest, which amused Tsuna deeply.

"Wait, does that mean... we're gonna see your godly spike once again?"

Tanaka's eyes sparkled like stars.

Tsuna tilted his head in confusion at the terms, "Godly spike?"

Suga nodded furiously at this and added, "Yes! That spike which destroyed Aoba Johsai!"

"Ah..."

Tsuna blinked in realization as he watched three pairs of eyes staring at him with starstruck expressions.

He shook his head and casually said, "Nah, that's not gonna happen."

"Yeaa---!! Huh?"

All three of them were about to shout in excitement, but their words got stuck in their throats.

They looked at Tsuna in confusion at his unexpected response.

"What do you mean by that?"

"I meant what I said," Tsuna shrugged and raised his left hand, smirking. "I'm now left-handed..."

"...???"

What the heck did he just say?
