Chapter 163

Chapter 163. The Bumpy Family And A New Busty Encounter

The story goes back to the original timeline, one week ago.

It’s the day after my conversation with Faf and Lalaila about wave manipulation and logical techniques.

After the morning rationing, I changed into my usual attire: a Y-shirt and slacks.

“What are you up to today, Akira-san?”

Lalaila asked while cleaning up.

“I’ve got a business negotiation. If it goes well, things could get a lot easier.”

“Really? Good luck!”

“Thanks.”

I raised a hand and left. Today, I plan to visit two places. First, her… I think she might be annoyed, but I headed to the craftsman district.

Following directions from the townspeople, my destination came into view. Not the blacksmith section enclosed by fire-resistant walls, but the fabric and clothing section lined up just outside the walls.

There were more small, cluttered buildings than I expected, all engaged in clothing-related work. It seemed searching for my target would be a hassle… Just as I was thinking that, I spotted a familiar woman carrying a large basket down a narrow alley.

It was Eutis, a slender beauty I met during my travels.

“Hey, looks heavy. Want a hand?”

“Huh…? Akira-san?!”

She must not have noticed me because her basket was packed to the brim with fabric, obscuring her view. Peeking out from the side of the pile, she recognized me.

“Where’s this going?”

I lifted her basket with ease.

“It’s fine! I’m just taking it nearby!”

“Don’t worry about it. I’ve been trained by a couple of muscleheads, so this is no heavier than a pebble.”

Ever since I learned to constantly harness wave power, heavy lifting has become easy. I could probably lift a sumo wrestler now.

“No, really… At least let me carry half…”

“Just let me help. In return, could you spare a moment for some advice?”

“Advice?”

“I’ll keep it short. But first, let’s get this delivered. It’s not heavy, but it’s in the way.”

“O-okay.”

With her thanks along the way, we delivered the pile of fabric to a trade association two alleys over, and that task was done.

“Thank you so much. You really helped me.”

“Don’t mention it. But do you have time?”

“For you, Akira-san, of course.”

“Hey now, don’t say that—you might get fired.”

“A little break is fine.”

“Well, let’s keep it brief. Do you think you could introduce me to the head of the clothing guild?”

“The guild leader?”

“I planned to come tonight, but I wanted to have a quick talk first. We can do the introductions later if needed.”

“No, I think it’ll be fine. Can I go back to my workplace first?”

“Of course.”

I’m the one being demanding here.

We returned to the alley, and she disappeared into a small workshop, returning a few minutes later.

“Shall we go?”

“Is work okay?”

“Guiding you to the guild leader is part of my job.”

“Alright, but if anything goes wrong, let me know, okay?”

“Yes.”

After a short chat, we arrived at a somewhat impressive building, with a small sign carved with images of clothes, needles, and thread. This looked like the clothing guild.

“This way.”

I wondered if it was alright to enter without an appointment, but since it seemed more like a trade association, it was probably okay.

Eutis spoke with someone at the counter to arrange a meeting.

“Akira-san, the guild leader will see you.”

“Thanks. I’ll repay you for this later.”

“Not at all. It’s the least I can do for my lifesaver.”

“That was just a circumstance. Don’t worry about it. If you want to make it even, this is plenty.”

“No, it’s not enough.”

“Well, it means a lot to me. Anyway, thanks. Let’s get a meal sometime.”

“Yes. Will you be at that spot… for a while?”

“That’s the plan.”

“Understood. I’ll come by when I have time.”

“You’re always welcome, but take care.”

“Yes. I’ll be going now.”

After a small bow, Eutis went on her way.

Now, for the main event.

“This way, Akira-sama.”

A middle-aged man with a merchant’s demeanor guided me upstairs. I expected to be taken to an open meeting area like the other merchants, so I was a bit surprised.

He led me into a room with a large, impressive wooden desk, clearly the guild leader’s private office.

Seated was a beautiful woman with an overwhelming bust that far surpassed even Cherina’s mother. When she stood up, the sight of her… swaying… completely captivated me.

There must be magical energy concentrated in them—a seductive power that ensnares men.

I quickly shook off those thoughts and bowed.

“Nice to meet you. I’m Akira, a traveling merchant.”

“Ah, likewise. I’m Felicia Maulred, head of the clothing guild. A pleasure.”

She extended her hand rather casually, so I shook it in return. Her skin was smooth, not what you’d expect from someone in this dry region, and certainly not the hands of a seamstress.

Now, how should I start this…

“Let’s hear what you have to say, then. Eutis spoke highly of you as an excellent merchant.”

What did Eutis say…

“I can’t say if I’m excellent, but I think we can have a good conversation.”

“I’m looking forward to it.”

Felicia smiled seductively.

Ah, she’s one of the same species as Cherina’s mother. I’ll need to be careful…

“Shall we jump straight into the negotiation? May I show you the product?”

I pulled out a leather bag, making a show of it so she’d think it was an item bag.

An item bag, by the way, is a typical magical bag with expanded interior space for storing large amounts of items.

“Go ahead, but are you planning to sell something to a clothing guild?”

Despite her words, her tone sounded intrigued.

“Let’s let you judge after seeing it.”

Without letting her see the bag’s opening, I quickly pulled out… a treadle sewing machine, disassembled into four parts.

“I’ll assemble it now, so please wait a moment.”

The machine was modified with the help of Hagg, so the assembly was simple. She appraised it as I set it up.

“It’s quite an impressive piece, but what exactly is it?”

“It’s a revolution.”

I took out a finely woven piece of fabric, two meters of a cotton-linen blend.

Felicia’s interest seemed more drawn to the uniformly woven fabric, but that wasn’t the main point.

“Now, let me show you the sewing of the future.”

With a theatrical flourish, I set the thread and started the machine. Thanks to my wave training, balancing on one leg while working was no trouble.

As the needle rhythmically pounded, the fabric folded neatly and stitched in seconds. Even this captivating woman widened her eyes.

“…Do you understand what you’ve created?”

“That’s right. I promised you a revolution, didn’t I?”

“…”

Felicia smiled intensely, even breaking a sweat.

“So, you want me to buy this?”

Her eyes fixed on me, sharp as a hawk.

“No, not exactly.”

“What?”

“I’m not saying it’s not for sale, but it’s a bit more complex.”

Felicia smirked and slowly took her seat.

“Then, I expect a detailed explanation.”

“Of course.”

I replied with a mischievous grin.
