Chapter 23: Kiss me
He opened the door when he got there and found her already fast asleep. He quietly shut the door.
She was wearing one of the night gowns that ended just inches below her butt cheeks and was a v-neck with thin singlet hands. Was this little shortie trying to seduce him or what?
He sat on the edge of the bed close to her as his gaze swept through her. Her shoulder length hair spread across the pillow exposing her neck and shoulders.
He wanted to shut the doors of the balcony so that she won't feel cold, he wanted to cover her body with a blanket but for so unknown reason he just sat there, his gaze on her so intent.
It was as if this very sight of her had put him under a spell. He could hear the lovely rhythm of her heart beat and the steady sounds of her breaths. His hands itch to just touch her, to caress her.
But he stopped midway, his hand hung in the air. What was he doing? Why are all these thoughts running in his head? What has this little shortie done to him?
Ever since that day they kissed, he couldn't understand himself anymore. A single strand of hair fell across her face, his hand that hung in the air came down to remove it. He brought it to the back of her ear.
He didn't know when his fingers started to trace on her, they walked majestically along her neck then up to her jawline...such feminine jawlines.
His thumb caress her lower lip and he started to recall the kiss again, he remembered how those cheeky and innocent lips tasted and he remembered the soft and gentle kiss she placed on his lips, how comforting it felt.
As if he regained his senses again, he suddenly withdrew his hand from her and was shocked when Luisa grabbed it.
"No, please don't stop," she mumbled, her eyes still closed. Slowly, they started to flutter open like butterfly wings.
She wasn't sleep talking, she wasn't sleeping at all. She was waiting for him and shut her eyes immediately he walked in.
They stared at each other for some while. Zeke didn't realize how much he missed the green eyes until now. The gold eyes suited her but it made her look more daring while the green eyes made her look more innocent like she couldn't hurt a fly.
"Did I wake you up?" his deep voice came out huskier bringing her back to earth.
"N-No...I waited up," she replied flashing a smile at him.
"I told you not to," he recalled and she just smiled.
He smiled back, "So, now how do I repay my little shortie for her kindness and for being considerate. My sweet protege, wish for anything and it shall be yours," he expressed and Luisa thought deeply.
"Anything?" she asked.
"Absolutely anything in the world and it shall be granted unto you," he smiled.
"Kiss me," she requested and she saw as his smile dissipated.
He didn't expect her to say that. There was silence, for a longer time than before, as they held each other's gaze. The silence wasn't awkward, it wasn't tensed, it wasn't suffocating.
She saw as he drew closer to her, he had the same look she had in her eyes...that look of need and desire. After that day they had both secretly hoped it would happen again, to taste each other's lips.
He inhaled her lovely scent as his lips and the tip of his nose swept through her neck. She could feel his hot breath on her shoulders and she felt a tingling sensation at the pit of her stomach when he place a soft and gentle kiss on her neck.
Their eyes met again and he kissed her forehead making her heart to flutter. Then he paused. 'Was that it?' she thought.
She was about to protest when he place a finger on her lips; "Ssssh," he shushed her and almost immediately he removed his finger and gently planted his lips on hers.
It was like electric current ran through both their spines when he did that. He held her cheek and kissed her so gently...he didn't even expect himself to kiss her so gently, he has never kissed a woman like this before.
He stopped, and stared into her eyes again. Only the fireplace which was almost diminishing and the light rays from the moon that ignited the room, it made her look ten times more alluring.
He pushed her gently on the bed and hovered above her. He lean over and started placing peppery kisses on her neck to her shoulders, Luisa smiled at the feeling it gave her. Their eyes met once more and he went in for another kiss as his hand caress her body gently.
He deepened the kiss even more. But memories of the little luisa started to rush into his mind. What was he doing? Why was he giving her false hope which he would still take away? Why was he playing with her feelings when he knew he can never be with her, he can never give her the kind of life or happiness she deserves.
He stopped kissing and caressing her abruptly and stood up. His hands squeezing hard on his jet black hair as a way to punish himself for being stupid and inconsiderate- This was the first time he was using abusive words on himself. He bit his lower lips to the pain the squeezing of his head exacted on his scalp.
"Zeke, are you okay? What's wrong?" Luisa asked but he didn't respond, he just continued squeezing his hair hard...She could feel the pain that must be causing him.
"What am I doing?" he mumbled to himself continuously even though Luisa could hear him. Then he just dashed into the bathroom and shut the door.
Luisa waited and waited for him to come out but he didn't. Sighing, she lied back on the bed. What had happen to make him react like that? He didn't come out, not until when she was at the verge of falling into the dream world did she feel the other side of the bed going down a little to his weight and she heard him sigh.
She turned towards him. He had already freshened up and was wearing his night attire. His large back and broad shoulders were facing her.
"Zeke?" she called softly but he didn't respond even though she clearly knew he wasn't asleep. She began to move closer to him.
"Zeke?" she called again as she placed her hand on his back. She felt as he tensed up to her touch, he has never been like this to her. He turned to face her, his eyes weren't cold and icy, they weren't happy or sad or angry...they were just void of all emotions.
"Zeke, what's wrong?" she asked again but he just stared back at her.
"Luisa, stand up," he finally spoke, standing up as well.
"Why?" Luisa asked.
Two of his fingers rubbed his forehead, "Just do it,"
She stood up, he grabbed the lacy jacket of the nightgown and helped her to wear it. After that he grabbed her hand and headed out of the room.
"Zeke, where are we going?" she asked.
"You'll see," was all he just said.
