Marvel: Beginning with the Collection of Shinra Tensei

Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Nostalgia Returns

Han Yu spoke seriously: "Good, it's better that you haven't told too many people. It's best if you keep this to yourself. The more people who know, the greater the risk to you and those around you—your family and friends."

Peter Parker was startled by Han Yu's solemn demeanor and quickly agreed. To lighten the mood, Peter began chattering away again. However, Han Yu wasn't listening; his mind was captured by a sudden message that echoed in his head.

"Ding! New mission triggered: 'Create a Spider-Man suit!'"

A faint smile appeared on Han Yu's lips. This system-issued task seemed too easy.

These tasks, without any "main" or "extra" prefixes, were ordinary missions. They triggered frequently, and their rewards were typically three to five upgrade points.

To get something truly extraordinary? You'd need incredible luck.

"Making a Spider-Man suit isn't hard. I remember every detail of the one from my previous life. But should I help him?"

Han Yu stared at the chatty teenager in front of him, lost in thought. Making a suit was simple enough, but anything crafted by him would be exceptional. If the wearer couldn't handle it responsibly, it could spell disaster—not just for the individual but for everyone around them.

"Parker, let me interrupt you," Han Yu said, gesturing for him to stop. "What do you plan to do with your powers?"

The question silenced Peter Parker.

What would he do? Commit crimes?

Peter had no such thoughts. Become a school sports star? That felt like a waste of his newfound abilities.

After a moment of contemplation, Peter looked Han Yu straight in the eye and said, "I want to fight crime. I want to help others."

His answer caused Han Yu's eyes to light up slightly. "Why?" Han Yu asked.

Peter hesitated for a moment before replying, "Because... if you have the power to act and you don't, then the bad things that happen are your responsibility."

Peter's words satisfied Han Yu. For a sixteen-year-old, having such awareness was remarkable. It made Peter worthy of Han Yu's help in crafting a suit.

Han Yu said, "Are you ready? Being a superhero isn't as easy as you might think. The challenges you'll face are beyond your imagination—even life-threatening."

Peter replied firmly, "If I don't do it, it'll feel even worse."

"Very well, kid. You've convinced me. Follow me."

"Eh? Where to...?"

Since they were on the ground floor and strangers could potentially walk in, Han Yu led Peter to a private room.

He fumbled along the wall for a moment before finding a hidden switch.

When the light flicked on, it illuminated a room so spacious it spanned 50 or 60 square meters. Weapons adorned the walls, an impressive collection at every turn. This was Han Yu's workshop, dedicated to crafting various weapons and equipment.

"What is this thing?"

At the center of the room stood a massive metallic "furnace." Peter Parker, intrigued by the strange device, approached it curiously.

The "furnace" was enormous, wider than two adults could wrap their arms around and about a meter tall. It looked like some kind of advanced, high-tech jet engine.

Han Yu answered casually, "That's a planetary injector. I use it for forging."

"A planetary injector?!"

Peter's eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at Han Yu. "Han Yu, have you gone crazy watching too many sci-fi movies?"

His reaction was understandable. Even members of the Avengers would have questioned Han Yu's sanity upon hearing such a claim.

"You might want to step back a bit," Han Yu advised with a smile.

He walked over to a control panel and pressed a few buttons. The planetary injector let out several loud "boom, boom, boom" noises before emitting a massive blue flame.

The intense fire column seemed capable of vaporizing anything in an instant. An almost invisible energy field surrounded the flame, preventing it from burning the surrounding area.

Even with the energy field, the heat made Peter sweat profusely. He now had no doubts about the authenticity of the planetary injector.

Seeing Peter drenched in sweat and wide-eyed with shock, Han Yu shut off the injector and said, "That was just one percent of its power. When I forge items, I usually start at forty percent."

"This thing... this thing is terrifying!"

Peter wiped his forehead, only to realize he was soaked in sweat. Meanwhile, Han Yu remained composed and dry, as if unaffected by the heat.

"Han, what exactly are you selling here? I always thought this was just an ordinary general store. You're not dealing in stolen high-tech goods, are you? You can't be that reckless! If the Avengers found out about this, you'd definitely get arrested."

Peter Parker's anxious expression left Han Yu both amused and exasperated.

"If you're calling me a high-tech dealer, you're not entirely wrong, but none of this is stolen. These are all my creations."

He continued, "Your words just now moved me, so I've decided to make you a suit. You can't exactly go out saving people in your pajamas, can you?"

Peter blushed slightly, but his excitement overshadowed his embarrassment. "A suit? Really? It won't be too expensive, will it? I can't afford anything pricey."

"Ha! It's free!"

As he spoke, Han Yu grabbed a measuring tape and quickly took Peter's height and waist measurements before starting to cut fabric.

"Oh, by the way, I have some ideas about the suit!"

Peter set down the backpack he'd been carrying and pulled out a small notebook, handing it to Han Yu.

Opening it, Han Yu found a series of simple sketches of suit designs. Though crude and basic, they already hinted at the classic Spider-Man costume Han Yu remembered from his past life.

Seeing Han Yu study his sketches so intently, Peter grew a little bashful. "These are just for reference," he said quickly. "You can stick to your own ideas. I'm fine with whatever."

Han Yu smiled and replied, "No, I think your ideas are great. I'll use your designs."

Being acknowledged made Peter beam with joy. Watching Han Yu work on the fabric, Peter eagerly joined in.

To his credit, Peter's intelligence shone through. Rather than slowing Han Yu down, his involvement actually sped up the process.

Peter suggested, "For the web-shooter, how about placing it in the palm? I can use my middle and ring fingers to activate it, which would make it easier to grab things."

Han Yu chuckled. "Alright, we'll do it your way."

While Peter was engrossed in the suit design, Han Yu discreetly made a few adjustments. With a few subtle gestures, he retrieved a palm-sized scroll and lightly pressed it against the Spider-Man suit. The scroll seamlessly merged into the fabric.

Han Yu repeated this process three times.

"These three single-use Shinra Tensei spells will serve as Parker's lifeline," Han Yu thought. "Experiencing life-and-death situations three times should help him grow."

Since these items were consumed as part of a system mission, they weren't deducted from Han Yu's inventory.

He didn't tell Peter about the life-saving Shinra Tensei spells. Han Yu didn't want Peter to develop a false sense of security, which might hinder his growth. After all, fledgling eagles don't soar by staying in the safety of a nest.

During this time, Wanda came downstairs and noticed Han Yu and a young boy engrossed in their work. She didn't interrupt, quietly slicing some fruit and leaving it in the room before heading back upstairs.

Peter, entirely focused on the suit, didn't notice Wanda's thoughtful gesture, but Han Yu did. Seeing her kindness brought a small smile to his face.

Time flew by. As the sun set, the two of them finally finished the Spider-Man suit.

Initially, Han Yu led the effort, but as Peter became more invested, he took over much of the creative process. The finished product closely resembled the iconic Spider-Man suit from Han Yu's memories.

The suit primarily featured red and blue fabric. The hands, feet, chest, and mask were red, while the sides of the waist and thighs were blue. A black spider emblem adorned the chest.

For Han Yu, this suit wasn't just a piece of clothing—it was nostalgia, a symbol of his youth. This was the classic Spider-Man suit, a timeless design!
