My Own Dragon Girl

The creature cried out in pain as it took a few stops back, leaving Nori to stand there idle.

I can feel the pain throughout my whole body yet I'm still standing here against this thing, adrenaline? Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump.

A burst of energy goes throughout his body as he notices that his hand begins to emit a strange white glow to it. "It seems I have something, I'll try to use it." Nori says quietly.

He struggles to walk towards the creature as it looks back in his direction. "Yes I see you and you see me. We're both pretty messed up, let's end this yeah?" Nori says weakly.

This is nothing like video games or some stories I've read in the past, this is my life now. All of this is happening before me and I need to do something about it if I want to survive.

He uses what little strength he has left to rush in towards the creature.

I fear death more than anything but I don't want to be a coward forever either so this is the next best option. Fighting until I can't anymore.

Nori starts to notice that he's feeling pretty light as his speed picks up more and more by the second. "One good hit will do right?" Nori questions outloud.

He uses his last bit of strength to jump and punch the creatures chest. Bam!!!! As it connects he can see a hole appear within the creatures chest as blood begins to leak from it.

One last roar could be heard before it falls backwards onto the floor.

Thud!!! Thud. Nori fell back as well but he still managed to stay standing.

I actually just defeated this thing, how did I even do any of this? My body hurts like hell, every single part of it hurts.

"Hahahaha. I actually survived. Ha." Nori begins to nervously laugh before falling over.

Catch. Rika had appeared out of nowhere and caught him before he hit the ground. "You did a great job. I'm sorry that this is how you experienced it all." Rika says softly as she slowly brings him down to the ground.

I could feel my head on something soft, what a nice feeling it was. I also heard Rika's voice before everything got dark around me, was I about to die?

Everything went dark for him as he passed out but Rika used her power to heal him. Not long after that, Aki decided to show up to see what happened here.

"I knew he'd do pretty well. Their bloodline is quite strong." Aki says confidently.

Rika just runs her hands through Nori's hair as she speaks. "Prophets always have it rough you know. Every story I've heard from you about one, it's never good. Think about Kamako who was considered one of the greatest Prophets." Rika speaks with a calm tone in her voice.

Aki takes a moment to look around before speaking. "Kamako is a legend but he's dead. We've got someone now, that's all that matters." Aki responds while crossing his arms.

The two of them continue to talk for awhile longer before taking Nori out of there to get some rest. He was mostly healed but still needed some time to recover.

Rika could only hear so much damage since she also has her own limits. A couple days of healing is all that is needed for him.

(One Week goes by.)

Nori mostly slept throughout that time since his body was adjusting to the way his power worked. It consumed a lot when he used just a tiny bit of it back against that creature.

Powers are all unique to each prophet, meaning there's different effects on each person. Prophets also need to train to use their power or else it'll be more draining on the body.

I don't remember much about what happened last since I only remember defeating that monster. I briefly felt something soft on my head before I slipped into that dark place.

Seems I just passed out but I don't know how long I've been asleep for. Rika showed up after I defeated it so maybe she'll have some answers for me.

Nori opens his eyes to see the familiar room from before, Rika also happened to be by his side when he woke up. She was still asleep but it didn't take long for her to wake up.

Even if I don't understand how she's here, she's pretty. I hope she doesn't catch me staring but at least she's right next to me so it's easier to ask her my questions when she's up.

Rika slowly opened her eyes to the sight of Nori looking down at her. "Yawnnn. Morning. About time you're up." Rika says after letting out a yawn.

I didn't think about it at first but she was laying next to me this whole time?!?! I can't believe that, I feel like most of my old friends would be jealous.

Not that they are around anymore to begin with but that's not the point here.

Nori scratches his head. "I wasn't out that long right?" Nori questions with a bit of concern in his voice.

Rika sits up the rest of the way. "About a week. It's normal but at least you survived, I was worried you wouldn't beat it." Rika answers with a bit of relief in her voice.

I didn't think I'd survive against that monstrosity at first either but somehow I managed to pull through. I was terrified throughout the entire thing, yet I managed to find enough courage to fight for my life.

Blood. Yes I saw a lot of my own blood during that time as well, but Rika said I was out a week. Was the damage really that bad from the beginning?

I don't feel any pain compared to before so maybe I'm all healed up now.

"What's next Rika?" Nori asks with a bit of curiosity in his voice.

"There's people coming today, we must meet with Aki." Rika responds while getting out of bed.

Who are the people we're meeting?
