Chapter 3: Chapter 3
"It's over! Asuma was hacked to death by Leo!"
The class froze in terror, staring at Leo.
But then—
"Crack—"
"Ton-ton-ton-ha!"
With one hand on the hilt of his sword and the other holding the wine bottle Kurenai gave him, Leo bit off the cap and started drinking.
"Did you all drink too much? I didn't even pull out my sword," Leo said, laughing drunkenly.
The class blinked in confusion.
"What? Huh?"
They rubbed their eyes. Sure enough, the blade was still sheathed, and Asuma sat on the ground unharmed.
"But… I saw it! I swear, Leo cut him in half!"
Tanaka Hideichi rubbed his eyes vigorously, his face filled with disbelief.
Everyone had seen it too—Asuma was definitely struck by Leo's blade, and there was even blood. But now, Asuma was perfectly fine.
"Could it be… a Genjutsu?" Tanaka muttered, staring at Leo in shock.
But that couldn't be right. Leo was only eight years old and already a prodigy in swordsmanship. Could he also master Genjutsu? And while drunk?
If Leo could hear Tanaka's thoughts, he'd laugh and drink even more. It wasn't Genjutsu at all, but the aura of his swordsmanship that caused the terrifying effect.
Asuma opened his eyes, trembling as he looked at his hands.
"I… I'm alive?"
The fear of death still lingered. He could've sworn he felt the pain of being cut in half. But why was he unhurt?
"Ton-ton-ton-ha!"
Leo tilted the bottle and drank deeply, sighing in satisfaction.
Suddenly, a voice echoed in his mind:
"Ding! The host, while drunk, has shocked the audience. Reward: Black Blade, Shusui! The reward has been sent to your home."
"Shusui? That name sounds familiar… Where have I heard it before?" Leo mumbled, his drunken mind struggling to remember.
After thinking for two seconds, he shrugged.
"Whatever. I'll figure it out later. For now, more wine!"
He glanced at Asuma, who was still sitting on the ground in shock.
"Hey, get out of the way! You're blocking my drinking space," Leo said, waving a hand dismissively.
The sheer terror in Asuma's eyes was enough to shake him out of his daze. Scrambling to his feet, he crawled back to his seat as fast as he could.
...
"The so-called three basic techniques of ninjutsu are…"
"Ton-ton-ton-"
Tanaka Hideichi was writing on the blackboard, but no one was paying attention.
All eyes were on Leo, who continued to sip from his wine bottle.
The boys were a mix of fear and admiration.
The girls? Some were scared, but others gazed at him with fascination.
Despite his constant drinking, Leo's messy black hair and narrow eyes gave him a unique charm. His handsome face seemed to grow even more striking the more he drank.
It was strange. Most people looked worse the more they drank. But Leo? He somehow became more captivating.
Leo didn't think much of it. He figured it was just another perk of his "Dionysus System."
But looks didn't matter to him. What mattered most was the next drink.
"More wine is always the answer," he thought, smirking to himself.
