Chapter 89: Chapter 89: Ultimate Overkill
"Boom, Boom!"
A massive water sphere was shattered, obliterated in an instant. The relentless force behind it struck Gamabunta head-on, sending the giant toad reeling.
Even though the combination wasn't a flawless fusion like that of a Kekkei Genkai, the power generated by combining five elemental jutsus far surpassed any single elemental jutsu, reaching the level of an S-rank forbidden technique.
Gamabunta's Flame Bomb was no match.
"Aaagh."
Gamabunta cried out, blown back as he rolled uncontrollably, crushing trees in his path and raising a cloud of dust. The earth lay devastated.
"He actually combined five elements." Shizune watched from afar, astonished. "That's incredible."
"No surprise—it's Kiyoshi." Even Karin, who often argued with Kiyoshi, looked at him with admiration, eyes sparkling. "That arrogant jerk is insanely powerful."
"Don't underestimate Jiraiya—he has quite a few tricks up his sleeve," Tsunade chimed in confidently.
While she had full confidence in Kiyoshi's strength, she was well aware of Jiraiya's.
It was clear that Jiraiya saw no need to use his trump cards in this sparring match, like his Sage Mode, which he hadn't activated yet.
"Gamabunta, are you okay?" Jiraiya, equally disheveled, steadied himself after nearly being thrown off Gamabunta's back. He looked at Kiyoshi in disbelief from afar.
"Does this guy… really possess all five chakra natures?"
"It hurts like hell… Jiraiya, what kind of monster did you piss off?" Gamabunta groaned, looking at his charred and bruised stomach.
The giant toad was both horrified and furious. "Isn't he from your village? He's not holding back at all."
But—
Jiraiya didn't have a chance to respond.
Crackle! Blinding lightning surged toward them.
As they barely managed to dodge, a storm of wind bullets tore through the air, coming at them with unyielding force.
"Ninja Art: Needle Jizo."
In a split second, Jiraiya's hair extended and hardened like steel, wrapping around him and shielding him from the onslaught of wind bullets.
Boom! The next moment—
Blazing fire lit up the sky and roared toward them.
"Water Release: Water Gun."
Gamabunta quickly formed hand seals, spitting out a torrent of water bullets to counter the flames.
Boom, Boom!
Fizz…
The fusion of fire and water filled the air with hot steam. But Gamabunta barely had a moment to catch his breath before a sudden chill ran down his spine.
"Great Chain Jutsu of the Five Elements."
With a cold smile, Kiyoshi raised his hand, releasing a swarm of multicolored trumpet-like flowers that unleashed a torrent of elemental jutsus in all directions, bombarding them mercilessly.
"Gamabunta, dodge." Jiraiya yelled, his voice urgent.
Reacting instinctively, Gamabunta leaped into the air.
Boom, boom!
Explosions filled the air.
The earth below lay in ruins, scarred and battered, making everyone's hair stand on end.
Gamabunta narrowly escaped, only for the relentless assault to resume, coming at them with even greater ferocity, like a tidal wave crashing down.
Boom, boom!
"Did they dodge it?" Kiyoshi raised an eyebrow, smiling.
Then, extending his hand with practiced ease, he spoke. "Well, how about… this."
"Ultimate Great Chain Jutsu of the Five Elements."
Jiraiya and Gamabunta's eyes widened with horror.
Adhering to the saying, "When resources are scarce, use tactics, when resources are abundant, unleash overwhelming firepower," Kiyoshi fully exploited his chakra advantage, giving them no chance to get close, carpet-bombing them from a distance.
Whoosh, whoosh…
Clusters of trumpet-like flowers in five-element combinations began to glow, emanating a terrifying, deadly aura.
"Wait, Gamabunta."
"No way, Jiraiya—you can fight this out yourself. I'm out." Realizing the danger, Gamabunta decided to retreat, his self-preservation instinct winning out. Honor? Not at the risk of his life.
Boom, boom, rumble…
"Gamabunta, you coward." Jiraiya's voice faded into the background as explosions reverberated.
Much later—
The earth lay in devastation, its surface littered with craters. A lone, bloodied figure sprawled on the ground, looking utterly defeated, his faith in life shattered.
"Well, you're looking a bit rough, Jiraiya." Tsunade said with a smile, treating him like a convenient test subject as she motioned for Karin to heal him.
Kiyoshi had indeed held back, despite the destruction—it was mostly external injuries. A few days of rest would suffice. The emotional trauma, however, was another matter.
"Tsunade, I admit that Kiyoshi's strength is beyond anything I expected." Jiraiya, weakened but stubborn, lay there.
"But you know as well as I do—some techniques are too powerful. If I lose control, I could end up killing him, which is why I didn't go all out."
Saying this, a slight embarrassment crept over his weathered face.
For someone of his rank and age, admitting that he might have needed Sage Mode—and even the two Great Toad Sages from Mount Myoboku—to handle a kid was humiliating enough.
"I understand," Tsunade nodded, not denying it.
While Kiyoshi had some powerful hidden cards, Tsunade was fully aware of her old comrade's true potential.
Given ample preparation, with Sage Mode and the support of Mount Myoboku's two toad sages, Jiraiya's combat strength would skyrocket. The trio's power was far from simple addition.
Especially since Mount Myoboku, a ancient sacred place, undoubtedly held some terrifying secrets.
Of course, if this were a fight to the death, with Kiyoshi's Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, there was no way he'd lose.
Tsunade believed this firmly. Kiyoshi's visual prowess was simply too overwhelming.
"I won't pretend I didn't hear that," Kiyoshi, unscathed, crossed his arms and looked down at Jiraiya with a mocking smile.
"So, you're saying you could kill me at any time?"
Unable to move, Jiraiya raised an eyebrow, annoyed. "Hey, kid, I am your elder, you know. Can't you be a little respectful?"
"Considering your shameless habit of peeking on women in the bath, I'd say sparing you is enough mercy," Kiyoshi retorted.
"Besides, if I hadn't held back, did you really think Gamabunta would've made it back to Mount Myoboku in one piece?"
Kiyoshi wasn't exaggerating.
Had he truly intended to kill, the moment Jiraiya summoned Gamabunta, Kiyoshi could have impaled the giant toad with Wood Style, leaving it skewered and ready to dry like toad jerky.
