Pokemon Earth’s Parallel World: Dragon Trainer

Chapter 95 – Sadistic Floyd?

Floyd's eyes gleamed with intrigue as he observed the young Gyarados. This particular Gyarados, while somewhat sly, also displayed a sense of loyalty, recognizing the presence of his father. Floyd found himself admiring this show of loyalty, regardless of whether it stemmed from pressure or genuine sentiment.

He looked upon the young Gyarados with a sense of appreciation and declared, "What, you want a fight? Fine, shall we start now?" Floyd and Fraxure braced themselves, readying for the impending battle.

ROAR!

Without a moment's hesitation, the young Gyarados lunged forward, unleashing a Bite Move. "Fraxure, use Protect," Floyd commanded without missing a beat. Fraxure acknowledged the order, raising his hands defensively to counter the young Gyarados's assault with Protect.

Realizing his initial attack proved ineffective, the young Gyarados's tail began to glow with a surge of water energy as he executed an Aqua Tail move.

"Use Claw," Floyd instructed, maintaining his composure.

Fraxure responded, activating Dragon Claw, and clashed with the young Gyarados.

Bang!

Gyarados was forced to retreat, finding himself a few meters away after losing the clash. "Rage," Floyd swiftly seized the opportunity, directing Fraxure to attack.

Caught off balance, Gyarados winced in pain as he felt the impact of Fraxure's attack. Learning from his previous mistake, Gyarados refrained from immediately charging back into the fray. Instead, he started to spin, initiating Dragon Dance.

"Oh, that again? Fine, Fraxure, use Swords Dance," Floyd remarked with a smile, recognizing the young Gyarados's strategy and promptly issuing his command.

Fraxure emanated an imposing aura as he performed Swords Dance. The young Gyarados, in the midst of his Dragon Dance, felt the overwhelming pressure, reminiscent of their prior battle. Confident in his odds of victory, he decided to take a gamble on himself and performed Dragon Dance a second time.

"Fraxure, don't let him complete it. Use Claw," Floyd instructed, determined to interrupt Gyarados's momentum.

Gyarados felt an intense energy coursing through his body, pushing him to the brink of losing control. Just as he was about to finish his move, Fraxure struck him with Dragon Claw.

Bang!

Gyarados absorbed the hit, but the backlash from the uncontrolled, violent energy proved too much, causing him to lose consciousness.

[Ding! Congratulations on defeating Gyarados. +30 points]

"Oh, he lost again," Floyd commented, maintaining his calm demeanor. The spectators couldn't help but roll their eyes at his understatement.

"By the way, it seems the Youngest has the ability to understand what the beasts are saying," one observer noted.

"Now that you mention it, I've also observed that the professor seems to grasp their language," another added.

"Professor, is it possible for us to learn the language of the beasts?" someone from the crowd inquired.

"Well, it would require a considerable amount of time, potentially more than a year," Kanraku replied, sweating profusely under the pressure. He certainly couldn't disclose the unique power that he and Floyd possessed. That would open a can of worms that was best left sealed.

"Well, let's heal him again and wake him up," Floyd suggested, transitioning the topic smoothly.

Then, 15 minutes later...

ROAR!

"How about it, Gyarados? Are you awake now?" Floyd asked.

ROAR!

Instead of responding verbally, the young Gyarados immediately launched into another attack.

"Come on, Fraxure, use Protect!" Floyd commanded swiftly.

"Claw,"

"Rage,"

"Oh, he's attempting it again. Fraxure, use Swords Dance!"

"You really haven't learned, have you? Okay, Fraxure, stop him once more. Use Claw!"

Bang!

The young Gyarados collapsed once again, losing consciousness in the process.

[Ding! Congratulations on defeating Gyarados. +30 points]

"Oh, he lost," Floyd sighed, a hint of helplessness in his voice.

"He's pitiful. Let's heal him," he said, proceeding to administer a dose of healing powder to the young Gyarados's mouth.

20 minutes later...

"Gyarados, can we have a proper conversation now? How about you calm down first? I'll give you this food!"

ROAR!

The young Gyarados, now completely out of control with red eyes blazing, charged towards Fraxure.

"Not again," Floyd sighed, his tone laced with helplessness. "Fraxure, use Protect!"

"Claw,"

"Rage,"

"Why has this guy suddenly become so senseless? You really haven't learned a thing. Fraxure, use Swords Dance,"

"Oh, he's charging in again. Fraxure, use Claw,"

Bang!

Fraxure and the young Gyarados collided once more, resulting in another defeat for the Gyarados.

"Use Dual Chop," Floyd commanded.

"Last move, Rage,"

Bang!

Gyarados once again lost consciousness, succumbing to the onslaught.

This time, however, Gyarados did not yield any points. It appeared that the points one could obtain from a beast were capped at three times per day. Having already vanquished Gyarados four times, Floyd did not receive any points for this fourth victory.

"Lost, again," Floyd sighed, exhibiting a hint of weariness, "Let's wake him up once more."

Thirty minutes later,

"Welcome back, Gyarados!" Floyd greeted, his tone laced with cheerfulness.

ROAR!

Unyielding as always, Gyarados immediately launched an attack.

"Fraxure, use Protect."

"One last move, Rage!"

Bang!

Once again, Gyarados succumbed, losing consciousness.

The onlookers, having borne witness to Floyd's relentless victories over the young Gyarados, had become desensitized to the spectacle. Inwardly, they questioned, 'Where is your dignity as a dragon? Why are you so weak?'

Pity for the young Gyarados also surfaced among the crowd, as they thought to themselves, 'What a pitiful creature.'

The wild Pokémon observing from afar trembled in fear upon laying their eyes on Floyd. Even the typically fearsome Arbok, Ekans, and Ursaring found themselves unnerved, casting pitying glances at the young Gyarados. 'You've tangled with the wrong opponent,' they seemed to think.

In this moment, a consensus was reached, both among the Pokémon and the human spectators: 'This is a person you must never provoke.'

"Haaaawhh, I'm so sleepy. Can we go back now?" Xin Yuexin, evidently bored from the continuous action, voiced her desire for rest.

"Yeah, it's way past midnight. We should head back," Jonathan concurred, his voice carrying traces of exhaustion. His initial excitement for the dragon had waned; it was far weaker than he had anticipated. A thought lingered in his mind: if he trained like Floyd, could his own beast also overpower formidable foes?

He wasn't alone in this contemplation; similar thoughts resonated among the crowd, instilling a collective determination to train their beasts with more rigor, aspiring to conquer giant Pokémon.

"We have work tomorrow. We should get going. Professor, could you help us make our way back?" Chen Yu asked Kanraku.

"I can take you," Suzuki Akiko chimed in proactively, noticing Kanraku's preoccupation with the footage on his camera.

Chen Yu gave Suzuki's Squirtle a brief glance before nodding in agreement, "Okay, let's go."

"I'll be staying here; you all go on ahead," Floyd decided in the moment.

"Me too," Kanraku echoed.

"Okay, Youngest, goodbye."

"Goodbye, Professor."

With their farewells exchanged, the group departed with Suzuki.

Once they were out of sight, Kanraku turned to Floyd and remarked, "Floyd-san, this Gyarados has completely lost its control."

"Yeah, I've just realized that as well, thanks to my power," Floyd acknowledged, promptly making his way over to the unconscious young Gyarados.

"Fraxure, I need your help this time," he requested, his tone serious.

"Fra-xure!" Fraxure responded affirmatively, promptly joining Floyd's side.

Floyd began to draw the dragon energy from the young Gyarados's body, channeling it directly into Fraxure. He was unable to absorb the energy on his own; the violent nature of the energy necessitated a dragon Pokémon's assistance, as his body could not withstand it. He had a vivid memory of a past experiment gone wrong, wherein he attempted to absorb dragon energy without aid, resulting in him losing control and nearly taking Axew's life—an incident he deeply regretted.

His dragon power served as a conduit, facilitating the transfer of energy from his own body or from one dragon Pokémon to another, whether to heal them or enhance their abilities. While it could boost his own power a bit, the effect was marginal. At this moment, he was channeling the energy into Fraxure, his strongest dragon Pokémon at its current stage, trusting that Fraxure had the capacity to handle this volatile energy.

As Fraxure absorbed the energy from Floyd, he exercised control over his sanity, ensuring he did not succumb to the violent energy. With precision, he unleashed a Dragon Pulse!

BANG!

The Dragon Pulse collided with a tree, effectively dispelling the violent energy from Fraxure's system.

"It's gone," Floyd sighed, a wave of relief washing over him as he observed the violent energy leave the young Gyarados's body, restoring tranquility to the scene.
