Pokemon : I Am A Breeder/Champion

Chapter 7: 7. If you can't even beat me, you might as well stay home and train

A group of little kids suddenly beamed with joy when they heard Evan say he wasn't angry.

Luna looked at Evan with hope and said:

"Brother Evan, can you tame this Pichu?"

"You must have a Poké Ball."

"Make it your Pokémon."

"Then it can play with us in the future."

She made the request eagerly.

It was precisely because she liked him that she would knock him out with a stone and carry him back.

I hope Brother Evan can use a Poké Ball to catch it.

Evan was speechless when he heard her words.

His focus shifted to the Poké Ball in his hand.

He held six pokeBalls given to him by Professor Ethan.

One was reserved for the egg, leaving five remaining.

Looking at the Poké Ball placed on the ground, Evan thought for a moment and nodded:

"Alright."

"Let's catch it, then."

Although he wasn't sure about its potential,

It didn't really matter, right?

Just keep it as a pet.

With that in mind, Evan took out a Poké Ball and threw it, utilizing the ball-throwing skills he had practiced for years.

*Thud.*

The Poké Ball struck Pichu on the head, knocking it out again just as it was waking up.

Poor little guy.

The Poké Ball opened, and Pichu was sucked in as a red light. The ball clicked shut.

This Pichu didn't even resist and was easily captured.

Seeing this, the group of kids immediately cheered.

"Awesome!"

"That's great!"

Watching a Pokémon being caught right before their eyes was thrilling for the little ones, much like seeing an excavator digging when they were younger.

It was pure excitement.

Who didn't feel that way as a child?

Evan understood their excitement.

Luna picked up the Poké Ball and ran to Evan, handing it over.

"Here, Brother Evan, the Poké Ball."

Luna was just as excited, feeling proud to have helped Evan tame the Pokémon.

Evan smiled at her words.

"Alright~~!"

He gently ruffled her hair before taking the Poké Ball from her.

After putting away the Poké Ball containing Pichu, Evan said:

"You should head back first."

"Take these berries back and wash them."

"I'll be back soon."

"And don't wander off or bother the wild Pokémon."

"If you get hurt, no more tasty snacks from me in the future."

Evan was good at playfully warning the kids.

Hearing his words, the little ones were immediately on alert.

They all nodded in agreement.

Gathering the fruits, the group began making their way back to the orphanage.

Evan started towards the mountain behind the orchard.

He planned to gather some honey or something.

With a bamboo basket on his back, Evan made his way into the forested area.

Since the orphanage was on the outskirts, there were plenty of Pokémon nearby.

Shortly after leaving the orchard and entering the mountains, Evan encountered some Caterpie and Bug-type Pokémon like Weedle.

There were also many Butterfree and other Pokémon.

These Pokémon weren't scared of humans either. After glancing at Evan, they continued with their activities.

Some were munching on leaves, others were absorbing tree sap.

These Pokémon, living so close to the orchards, were used to seeing people.

So they had no reason to fear him.

In the past, the old dean would even give these Pokémon some berries to eat.

But what about the fruit in the orchard? Basically no profit.

Just like a welfare home, some Pokémon always came in to steal food.

The old director didn't care much, as long as he could make enough money to keep the orphanage running.

If Evan were asked to handle this, then he would definitely do something about it.

Maybe get some Growlithe or Grass-type Pokémon to manage the orchard.

Well, this little guy who had just been tamed could probably help too.

Thinking of this, Evan took out the Poké Ball containing Pichu.

After sensing for a moment and realizing that it hadn't woken up yet, Evan decided not to bother with it.

Once it wakes up, he'll talk to it, but for now, he set it aside.

No need to deal with it until he's done with his current task.

Evan's psychic abilities were gradually released, and he began to use his mental power to explore the situation in the back mountain.

It wasn't long before the entire terrain and environment of the back mountain appeared clearly in his mind.

Some Pokémon with keen senses also became restless at this time.

After locating what he needed, Evan vanished instantly.

Teleport.

In the blink of an eye, Evan appeared on the mountain.

In front of him was a group of Beedrill.

Looking at the group, Evan acted without hesitation.

"I'll just borrow some honey."

As he spoke, a surge of Evan's psychic power erupted.

The Beedrill in front of him sensed the threat and immediately took up a fighting stance.

However, before they could make any move, Evan knocked them unconscious with his powerful mental force.

Each Beedrill dropped like dumplings under the shock of Evan's psychic attack.

Whether it was Beedrill or Cloyster, all of them were stunned.

Evan, pleased with his quick work, smiled.

Only then did he begin gathering the materials he needed from their nests.

The level of the Pokémon in front of him wasn't high, most of them were intermediate or advanced.

As for Evan's psychic abilities, in his estimation, they were probably at the championship level.

In other words, he was essentially a champion-level humanoid Pokémon.

Of course, he wasn't entirely sure.

After all, he'd never seen a real champion level Pokémon battle.

The mental power he had just unleashed was probably at gym leader level.

That's why the Beedrill were so easily defeated.

Evan had always viewed himself as a potential champion Psychic, which explained his confidence.

So, what would Evan say if he wanted to train Pokémon?

"If you can't even beat me, you might as well stay home and train."

As everyone knows, there are four Elites in the World, but they are actually all champion-level trainers.

This is also Evan's personal goal.

Only when his Pokémon can match his power will he consider participating in gym battles.

Maybe he could even enter some competitions and win a prize or two.

...

After gathering everything he needed and just as he was about to leave, Evan unexpectedly found three evolution stones in the nest.

"A Leaf Stone?"

He inspected the stone with the leaf patterns etched on it.

Evan was a little surprised.

He hadn't expected to find an evolution stone here.

Even the cheapest Leaf Stones sell for several thousand.

High-quality ones can go for hundreds of thousands.

Though the quality of the three evolution stones in front of him wasn't top-notch, they would still be worth tens of thousands if sold.

"Is this my lucky day?"

"Just perfect."

When he said this, Evan was genuinely happy.

He was running low on funds, and finding these stones felt like a stroke of good fortune.

Could it be that my super luck is kicking in? he wondered, smiling as he collected the Leaf Stones.
