Pokemon Journeys (My Version)

After a good night's rest, Mew and her friends set off once again on their journey to Goldenrod City. As they walk out of the Pokemon Center, a boy rushes over with his Growlithe in his arms.

The boy says, "Hang on, Growlithe!" and collides with Tomo and Jen.

"Are you guys okay?" Brock asks.

"You should be more careful or somebody could get hurt," Misty says.

"Sorry, but my Growlithe's in bad shape," The boy says.

"Looks like it lost a pretty tough Pokemon battle," Mew says, looking at the boy and his Pokemon.

"Yeah, Growlithe and I messed with the wrong trainer this time," The boy says.

Mew then asks, "You think that trainer would be up for another Pokémon battle?"

"Yeah, especially with that Pokémon," The boy says.

"Are they around here somewhere?" Jen asks.

"Yeah, they're at the Old Mountain Bridge, and if you're smart, stay away!" the boy says, and runs inside the Pokemon Center.

"Well, which way do we go?" Brock asks.

"I say we go the hard way, straight up to the old mountain bridge!" Mew says.

And with that, Mew and the others are heading towards the old mountain bridge.

"I wonder what kind of Pokemon this trainer uses? That kid didn't say," Brock replies.

Misty suggests, "Maybe a grass type or a water type...maybe even a fire type."

"Could be, but it could also be a Rock Type, a Ground Type… or even a Steel Type," mew says.

"Whatever it is, it must be really strong," Jen says.

"I'm sure Mew can take on that trainer," Tomo says.

"Skwovet," (I know she can.) Skwovet says.

Right on cue, Team Rocket peek out from the bushes.

"Well, the twerp patrol is having a battle," Jessie says.

"Yes, and even if they win, their Pokemon will be weakened," James says.

And Meowth says, "And dat's when we can move in and grab em all."

WOBUFFET!" (Absolutely.) Wobbuffet says.

"Must you always butt into our business?!" Jessie angrily asks.

"Wobba-Wobba-Wobba-Wobba-Wobba!" (Every single time because I'm obliged to.) Wobbuffet says.

"I was afraid you would say that," Jessie says, and calls Wobbuffet back to the Pokeball.

Then turns to James and Meowth, "Well, let's start tailing those twerps, shall we?"

"Aye aye!" James and Meowth answer.

The three villains turn and with a chuckle, follow the trail.

Meanwhile, Mew and the others arrive at the Old Mountain Bridge.

"Here we are, the Old Mountain Bridge," Mew says.

"I don't see any trainer," Tomo says, looking around.

Misty soon notices something, "Guys, look over there!"

Everyone soon spots a young girl wearing a mountain cap, pink pants, purple shirt, and has a bag. She also has blue hands. The girl turns to see Mew and her friends with her blue eyes.

Soon, Brock has become lovestruck again, "ARRRRRH!" Then rushes to the girl and takes her hand, "I climbed this mountain and found the peak of perfection!

"Yeah, but he lost his mind," Misty replies.

Togepi chirps while Pichu nods in reply.

"My name's Brock. What's your name, miss?" Bock asks.

"My name's Miki," The girl says.

"Ah, lovely name for a lovely girl, but there's a really tough trainer somewhere up on this mountain and you shouldn't be out here all alone," Brock says.

"Oh dear, whatever will I do?" Miki sarcastically asks.

"I'm at your service," Brock says, happily.

Miki smiles slyly and says, "Then maybe you can do me a favor."

"You just name it, Miki," Brock says.

Miki gently pulls her hand away, making Brock confused, "Huh?"

"Have a Pokémon battle with me, Brock! Use a Fire Pokémon!" Miki says.

Everyone becomes shocked.

Brock says in shock, "Ah! You're not a poor little girl lost in the woods, are ya?!"

"No, sorry," Miki says.

"That kid warned us about the trainer who beat him," Misty says.

"And I bet that trainer was Miki," Tomo says, just as surprised

"Loetta," (Must be.) Meloetta says.

"Eevee Eevee," (She looks like a tough trainer.) Eevee says.

Miki calls out, "Well, Brocky, are you gonna battle me?"

"Of course I'll battle you. But I don't think this is gonna be an easy one," Brock says.

"It won't be an easy one, for you," Miki says and throws her Pokeball, "I choose, Skarmory!"

Soon, Skarmory comes out of the Pokeball

Skarmory calls out, "Skarmory!" (Ready to battle!)

Everyone is shocked to see the Skarmory Miki call out.

"That Skarmory looks as strong as mine," Tomo says.

"Let's see," Mew says and takes out her Pokedex.

Dexter says, "Skarmory, the Armor Bird Pokemon. A Steel and Flying Type. Because Skarmory nests in briars and is constantly scratched by thorns, its wings become razor-sharp.

"Amaur Amaura Amur," (That Skarmory looks pretty nasty) Amaura says.

Mew translated, "Amuara said that Skarmory looks nasty."

"I have to agree.

"In case you've never seen one of these before. Skarmory is a steel type Pokemon, but for some reason, steel types are usually weak against fire types," Miki says.

"Then, why do you want to battle with a Fire Type?" Jen asks.

"We've been training here in these mountains for weeks and we've already battled all of the other types. Now I want my Skarmory to get even stronger by battling a Pokemon that'll be a real challenge," Miki explains.

"A challenge, huh?" Brock says, "Well, if it's a challenge you want, it's a challenge you'll get!" He throws his Pokeball and calls out, "Go, Vulpix!"

Soon, Vulpix comes out of the Pokeball.

"Okay, Skarmory, you ready to battle?!" Miki calls out.

Skarmory confirms as Team Rocket gets a ringside seat.

"A Skarmory's a very rare and valuable Pokemon," James says.

Then Jessie says, "It's a steel type Pokemon."

"Yeah, just the type we wanta steal," Meowth says.

"Let's get ready for our flyby!" Jessie says.

"Roger!" The boys call out.

Team Rocket ducks down in the bushes. Soon, the battle begins.

Miki calls out, "Okay, Skarmory, do it!"

Skarmory takes off and blinds Vulpix in dust. When the dust clears, Skarmory is nowhere in sight.

But Pikachu does, "Pika!" (Up there!)

Mew hears Pikachu, and looks up, "Hey! Up there!"

Everyone looks up and spots Skarmory.

"It flew up high so it could build up speed and attack diving down!" Misty says.

Skarmory starts dive bombing towards Vulpix.

Brock calls out, "Vulpix, use Flamethrower!" and fires the Flamethrower.

Miki calls out, "Skarmory, use your Agility!" and Skarmory starts darting around the flames.

Brock calls out, "Vulpix, use your Agility! Get away!"

Vulpix tries to run away from Skarmory, but to no avail

"It's no use! Vulpix will never outrun it!" Mew says.

"Skarmory flies way too fast!" Misty says.

Then Miki calls out, "Use your Steel Wing!"

Soon, Skarmory uses Steel Wing and dashes through Vulpix, knocking Vulpix out and shocking everyone.

Brock rushes to Vulpix, "Vulpix, are you okay?"

Vulpix answers, "Vul. (I'm okay.)

"You need a good rest," Brock says and returns Vulpix to her Pokeball.

"Congratulations, Skarmory. Nice work," Miki says.

Brock then says to Miki, "I have to admit it, Miki, you and Skarmory fought a great battle."

"Thanks, Brock," Miki says.

Mew walks to Miki, "Hey Miki, can I battle with you? I got a few Fire Types."

"Skarmory and I can take the heat if you're up to the challenge," Miki says.

"Thought you'd never ask!" Mew says, and calls out, "Cyndaquil, I choose you!"

And Cyndaquil comes out of his Pokeball

"A Cyndaquil, huh?" Miki says. Then turns to her Skarmory, "Well, Skarmory, it looks like we're in for another fire battle."

Cyndaquil starts to yawn a bit.

Mew giggles, "Alright Cyndaquil, it's time to have a battle."

Then Miki calls out, "Let's start the battle, Skarmory!"

Skarmory then takes to the sky.

Alright Cyndaquil, let's try to turn up the heat," Mew says.

Cyndaquil tries to ignite its fire.

But Miki calls out, "Swoop in and lead off with your Fury Attack, Skarmory!"

Skarmory swoops in, but Cyndaquil dodges the attacks.

"Pretty good on defense, but I'm afraid you're not gonna win the battle that way," Miki says.

Soon, Skarmory swoops in, and Miki calls out, "Swift attack!"

Skarmory performs the attack, and strikes at Cyndaquil.

"Cyndaquil!" Mew calls out.

Then Miki calls out, "Use your Fury Attack!"

"Quick, Cyndaquil, use your Agility!" Mew calls out.

Cyndaquil dodges Skarmory's attack, but is not sure how long Cyndaquil can keep up.

"Cyndaquil's in big trouble!" Brock says.

Misty calls out, "Hang in there, Cyndaquil!"

"Don't give up!" Jen calls out.

"Cyndaquil, time to turn up the heat!" Mew says.

Cyndaquil tries and soon the flames on his back lights up.

"Well, Cyndaquil's got its flame lit. Good thing Skarmory's already warmed up," Miki says.

Then Mew calls out, "Cyndaquil, use your Flamethrower attack!"

"Use Swift attack, Skarmory!" Miki calls out.

Skarmory dodges the flames and launches the second Swift Attack.

Mew calls out, "Cyndaquil, dodge!"

"Alright, Skarmory, let's not draw this out any longer. Finish the job!" Miki says.

Skarmory flies in

Then Miki calls out, "Use your Steel Wing attack, Skarmory!"

Skarmory's wings glow.

"This is like a replay of my match!" Brock says.

Misty says, "Mew better do something fast!"

Skarmory closes in.

Mew calls out, "Cyndaquil, use your Flamethrower attack before it's too late!"

Cyndaquil launches the attack but Skarmory dodges.

Mew calls out, "Get out of there!"

But before Cyndaquil can act, both Cyndaquil and Skarmory are snatched up by a pair of claws, shocking everyone.

"What's happening?" Miki asks.

Jessie:

It's too late to prepare for trouble!

James:

We caught 'em both and made it double!

Jessie:

To protect the world from devastation!

James:

To unite all peoples within our nation!

Jessie:

To denounce the evils of truth and love!

James:

To extend our reach to the stars above!

Jessie:

Jessie!

James:

James!

Jessie:

Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!

James:

Surrender now, or prepare to fight, fight, fight!

Wobbuffet:

Wobuffet! (That's right!)

Meowth:

Dat's right!

"What do you three losers think you're doing?!" Mew shouts.

"We know exactly what we're doing!" Jessie says.

And James says, "We're taking your two Pokemon and giving them to our boss as a present!"

"WOHHHHH- BUFFET!" (Absolutely!) Wobbuffet says.

"I'd like you better if you'd be absent," Jessie says and calls back Wobbuffet.

"Adios, Los Twerpos!" Jessie calls you.

And Meowth calls out, "Bye-o-nara!"

"Hey! Come back here!" Tomo shouts.

Skarmroy struggles to get free, rocking the balloon in the process.

"Skarmory! Try a Swift Attack!" Miki shouts.

Skarmory does so and buts the rope holding it up before plummeting towards the ground.

Miki cries out, "Skarmory!"

"I got it, Miki!" Brock shouts, running faster.

Brock then manages to save Skarmory, but collapses under the weight.

Mew, Pikachu, and Eevee still chase after them.

Mew calls out, "Gimme back my Cyndaquil!"

The chase continues until the evening.

Cyndaquil calls out, "Cyndaquil." (Please save me.)

"Why can't that kid give up?" Jessie asks

"She should learn da power of positive quitting," Jessie says

"Wobuffet!" (Good idea!) Wobbuffet says.

"So should you," Jessie says.

Soon, Skarmory's cry is heard.

"Hey, it's Skarmory!" Mew says.

Soon, Skarmroy's wings glow, performing the Steel Wing.

"Skarmory's using its wings," Jessie says.

"And we haven't got a prayer," James nervously says.

Skarmroy then uses Steel Wing to slice the balloon, and sends them out of control.

"We're gonna have an unhappy landing!" Meowth cries out.

As the balloon zooms away, the cage holding Cyndaquil drops.

"Cyndaquil!" Mew cries out.

She manages to catch Cyndaquil's cage just in time.

Team Rocket cries out, "Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!"

"WOBBBBBB!" (Whoa!) Wobbuffet cries out.

"I'm sure is good to have you back," Mew says, freeing Cyndaquil

"Cyndaquil," (Same here, Mew.) Cyndaquil says.

"Mew! Brock calls out.

Soon, the others arrive.

Misty asks, "Is Cyndaquil okay?"

"Yeah," Mew says.

Skarmory lands,

Miki walks to her Pokemon, "Good work, Skarmory, you saved the day."

Skarmory lets out a cry, "SKKARRRRRRRR!"

Later that night, Mew and the others are at Miki'a cabin having dinner.

"Tastes great! I don't get food like this when I cook for myself, Brock," Miki says.

"Aw, thanks, Miki," Bock says, "If you'd come along with us, I'd cook a romantic meal for two every single night!"

Then Misty pulls Brock's ear, "Oh, big deal. On our budget that means a double cheeseburger."

Mew laughs sheepishly.

Then turns to Miki, "Miki, I hope you don't mind me asking, but did you use any secret techniques to train your Skarmory?"

"Well, I think it's important to train as hard as Pokemon do. I train right alongside with my Skarmory. We do everything together," Miki says.

"That's pretty intense, Miki," Tomo says.

"But it makes sense," Brock says, "If you want your Pokemon to train to be strong, you have to do the same thing, right, Miki?"

"Right! It works for me," Miki says.

Mew smiles, "I think it sounds like a good idea. Kind of like putting yourself in your Pokemon's shoes. Maybe I should give it a try."

The next day, Mew decides to train Cyndaquil to help him work with his Fire Attacks.

"If we wanna be as tough a team as Miki and Skarmory, we both gotta train. We both gotta train tough! The first thing we gotta work on is getting you revved up faster so your flame will start quicker. Cause if we don't, we'll always be at a disadvantage," Mew says.

Soon, Mew and Cyndaquil run to the top and come to a stop.

"Alright, let's take a little break before we start to practice your attacks," Mew says.

"Cynda," (Okay.) Cyndaquil says.

Then the two sit down.

Mew then explains, "Alright Cyndaquil. I think it will be a good idea to work on some of your defenses? Since you are well skilled with Defense. And after that, we'll need to work on your offense, especially your fire attacks."

"Cyndaquil," (Okay.) Cyndaquil replies with a nod.

"Okay then. We'll work on your agility first," Mew says.

Cyndaquil happily agrees.

Soon, Mew and Cyndaquil are at training.

Mew calls out, "Are you ready?"

"Cyndaquil!" (Any time!) Cyndaquil says.

Mew calls out, "Cyndaquil, use Agility!"

Cyndaquil starts running down the path line with rocks, disappearing and reappearing.

"You're doing great, Cyndaqil! Now, pick up the pace!" Mew calls out.

Cyndaquil starts going a bit faster.

"That's better! Keep it moving!" Mew calls out.

Cyndaquil continues.

Meanwhile, back at the cabin, everyone is eating.

"Mew left really early. I wonder where she went," Miki replies.

"I know she's impressed by the way you train, so maybe she's trying it out," Misty says.

"She must be really serious if she didn't wait for breakfast," Brock says.

"Actually, I saw Mew earlier and seem to have brought a small basket," Jen says

Meanwhile, Mew has packed herself and Cynaquil some breakfast and are able to eat. As soon as they finish, the two wait a little bit.

"Breakfast is good, huh Cyndaquil," Mew says.

"Cyndaquil," (Thank you, Mew.) Cyndaquil says.

"You're welcome," Mew says.

Mew then stands up, "Now that we eat and rested, let's keep working!"

Cyndaquil agrees.

Mew walks a little distance away and says, "Okay, Cyndaquil, use your Tackle attack, now!"

Cyndaquil charges and nails Mew, and sends her back reeling into an apple tree.

"See? You're getting stronger already, Cyndaquil," Mew says.

Cyndaquil concurs.

"Your Agility and your Tackle attacks are good, but you're gonna need your flame to be a contender," Mew says.

Then Mew picks the apple trees, "These apples look nice. We can grab some for later."

Mew then picks some of the apples from the trees. But when she picks the third one, she realizes something is holding it, and that something is a Beedrill.

"Ooops. Sorry," Mew says, with a sheepish smile.

Suddenly, a swarm of Beedrill appears from the tree, making the two panic.

"Wild Beedrill! Run for it!" Mew cries out.

Then the two run away from the swarm. Suddenly, Mew trips and falls to the ground. She turns to see the Beedrill flying towards her. To protect Mew, Cyndaquil gets in front of Mew, lights up his back flame

Cyndaquil cries out, "Quiiiiiiiillllllllll!" (Flamethrower!) and launches Flamethrower.

That causes the Beedrill to retreat.

That was amazing, Cyndaquil," Mew says, "You started your flame so you could protect me from those Beedrill, didn't you, Cyndaquil?"

Cyndaquil confirms.

Mew picks up Cyndaquil, "I knew you could do it. Now all you have to do is remember how you did it."

"Cyndaquil," (Sure I will.) Cyndaquil says.

And with that, Cyndaquil soon starts practicing his attack with a stick being thrown into the air. Cyndaquil launches Flamethrower, but misses.

Mew says, "Focus on your aim, not just your flame!"

"Quil (Right!) Cyndaquil says.

"Aim and fire!" Mew says and throws the stick.

Cyndaquil launches the attack and this time, hits the target.

"Nice shot! We're getting to be pretty good at this, aren't we?" Mew says.

"Quil quil (Sure are.) Cynaquil says.

"Alright, now try this one!" Mew says.

Cyndaquil, once again, hits the target.

"Let's try rapid fire!" Mew says and throws three sticks.

Cyndaquil is able to hit them all.

"You're red hot, Cyndaquil!" Mew says.

Cyndaquil starts to celebrate.

Meanwhile, at the cabin, Mikki is seen brushing her Skarmory.

"Boy, you sure do keep your Skarmory in tiptop shape," Brock says, impressed.

"Thanks. I like to brush and groom its wings," Miki says.

"Skarmory seems to enjoy it, too," Misty says.

Skarmory agrees.

Soon, Pikachu notices, "Pi? Pika! Pika Pi!" (Huh? Look! It's Mew!)

"Eevee Eevee," (And Cyndaquil too.) Eevee says.

The group looks to see them

"There they are," Brock says.

"Wonder where they've been all morning," Misty says.

Mew walks over and says,"Hey, guys. Cyndaquil and I just did some pretty intense training, and ran for our lives from a Beedrill swarm."

"Sounds like you had a pretty good workout," Mew says.

"Thanks," Mew says.

Then asks, "Hey, Miki, do you think Cyndaquil and I could have a rematch?"

Miki happily says, "I thought you'd never ask!"

Skarmory agrees.

Soon, the two trainers and their Pokemon are ready to battle.

Brock announces, "This is a one on one match, no time limit!"

"Okay, Cyndaquil, power up!" Mew calls out, and Cyndaquil quickly ignites his back flame.

Misty is impressed, "Cyndaquil's flame is burning already!"

"They're off to a good start!" Brock says.

"This should be fun!" Miki says, and calls out, "Go, Skarmory!"

Skarmory then takes off and blinds Cyndaqil."

Mew calls out, "Look out, Cyndaquil! Here it comes!"

"Use your Fury Attack, Skarmory!" Miki calls out, and Skarmory dives down.

Then Mew calls out, "Cyndaquil, try a Smokescreen!"

Cyndaquil fires the attack and it blinds Skarmory.

"Perfect!" Mew says and calls out, "Now use your Flamethrower!"

Cyndaquil then fires the attack.

"Skarmory, dodge the flame!" Miki calls out, and Skarmory dodges the attack.

Then Miki calls out, "Use your Steel Wing!" Skarmory's swings glow and close in on the attack.

Mew calls out, "Cyndaquil, use your Agility to get out of the way!"

Cyndaquil soon vanishes and reappears over and over from the attack.

"Great defense, Cyndaquil!" Mew says, and says, "Now let's turn up the heat!"

"Skarmory, use your Agility!" Miki calls out.

Cyndaquil fires, but Skarmory dodges all of them

"Cyndaquil dodges attacks as well as Skarmory!" Misty says, amazed.

"And Cyndaquil is doing it faster," Jen says.

"And is able to use Flamethrower quicker too," Tomo says.

Then Brock says, "But they can't keep dodging attacks. They're gonna have to have a head to head showdown!"

"The only way to end this match is if both our Pokemon use their very best attack!" Miki says.

"That's just fine by me!" Mew says.

Then Miki calls out, "Alright, Skarmory! Time for your Steel Wing attack!"

Skarmory closes in.

Mew calls out, "This is it, Cyndaquil! Use your hottest Flamethrower!"

"They can't stop you, Skarmory!" miki says.

Cyndaquil's attack strikes dead center at Skarmory, but Skamrory powers through and strikes at Cyndaquil.

Mew cries out, "Cyndaquil, no!"

Cyndaquil falls to the ground, but struggles to get back up.

Everyone calls out, "Poor Cyndaquil."

Even the pokemon is worried.

"Skarmory took a direct Flamethrower hit and it's still attacking!" Misty says.

And Brock says, "This could be it!"

Miki calls out to her Pokemon, "One more Steel Wing, Skarmory!"

Skarmory moves in for the final attack.

Mew calls out, "One last Flamethrower, Cyndaquil!"

Cyndaquil launches the attack and hits Skarmory, but Skarmory powers through and nails Cyndaquil again.

"I've never seen any Pokemon take two Steel Wing attacks and keep going," Miki says, impressed.

Mew calls out, "Cyndaquil, do you wanna quit?"

Cyndaquil soon struggles and is able to get up, and powers up his flames.

"Cyndaquil?" Mew says, surprised.

Everyone is shocked by what's happening.

"I can't believe this!," Miki says, shocked, and calls out, "Skarmory, use Steel Wing!"

Skarmory goes in for the final blow.

But Mew calls out, "Quick, Cyndaquil! Jump out of the way!"

Cyndaquil quickly evades the attack.

"This can't be!" Miki says, shocked, and calls out, "Use Fury Attack, Skarmory!"

Skarmory closes in for the attack, but Cyndaquil dodges every attack, wearing Skarmory down.

"Cyndaquil's defense moves have Skarmory all worn out!" Misty says.

"Skarmory looks like it only has one attack in it!" Skarmory says.

"We have one last chance to win this, Skarmory! With one last Steel Wing!" Miki calls out, and Skarmory charges in for the last attack.

Mew calls out, "Come on! You can dodge it, Cyndaquil!"

Cyndaquil dodges, and Skarmory goes flies right into a rock

"That was great, Cyndaquil!" Mew says, and calls out the next move, "Now use your Flamethrower at maximum power!"

Cyndaquil soon fires Flamethrower right at Skarmory.

Miki calls out, "Skarmory, try to fly away!"

Ans Mew calls out, "Now Tackle it like you tackled me!"

Cyndaquil charges and nails Skarmory with full force. Soon, Skarmory is knocked out.

Brock announces, "Skarmory is unable to battle! The victory goes to Cyndaquil!

Cyndaquil starts celebrating with glee.

Miki kneels to Skarmory, "I'm very proud of you, Skarmory. You deserve a good rest." And calls Skarmroy back to his Pokeball.

Mew picks up Cyndaquil, "We did it! Our training finally paid off!" and laughs with glee.

Later, everyone arrives at the Old Mountain Bridge.

"That was some match. You and Cyndaquil were great," Miki says.

"Thanks, Miki. You guys were, too," Mew says.

And Brock says, "I guess you and Skarmory will be staying here in the mountains for more training.

But Miki says, "No. I think we made a mistake staying here so long."

Everyone is puzzled.

"You learn a lot by training alone, but you can never learn the things you do from battle. So, now, we're gonna challenge as many gym leaders as we can find," Miki says.

Brock then asks, "Do you think you'll make it to the Johto League finals, Miki?"

"Sure, if Skarmory and I get good enough." Miki says.

"Hey!" Miki says, "You and Miki may have to battle again, Mew."

"Yeah," Mew says, I hope we can have another match, someday." and extends her hand.

"Great!" Miki says.

Then the two shake their hands.

Soon, Mew and her friends part ways with Miki as they say their Farewells. It shows that strong and determined training will pay off, and it proves well for Cyndaquil. Of course, the bond between Mew and Cyndaquil has gotten stronger thanks to Miki's examples.

Meanwhile, up in a tree, Team Rocket are tied up in their balloon.

"James, can't you do something to get us out of here?" Jessie asks.

"I'd love to but I'm a little tied up," James says.

And Meowth says, "So appropo."

"WOBUFFET!" (It sure is!) Wobbuffet says.

Jessie calls out, "Why don't you do help us?"

"Wobuffet!" (No fingers!) Wobbuffet answers.

"You make Psyduck look good!" James shouts.
