Chapter 199: Chapter 55: Two Hits And A Miss!
Mew and her friends continue on the road to Ecruteak City, and the road they're taking has twists and turns. Suddenly, they feel strange vibrations from the ground and the sound of hooves clattering on the ground. The two soon turn their heads to see a runaway Tauros, and the one running near it is unusual.
The black one looks similar to the other Tauros, but is covered in black fur, a thick black mane, dark gray hooves, and black tail. It has two gray bumps, one small and one big, running vertically on its forehead. It has two straight gray horns, a thick black mane, and shorter black tufts on its tail compared to Kantonian Tauros.
"Look, those are Tauros," Mew says.
"But what's with that black one?" Tomo asks.
Everyone quickly sidestep out of the way as the two storm by them.
After doing so, someone chases after the Tauros, "Tauros! Take it easy! Come back!"
However, the two Tauros keep charging. Mew looks to see an elderly man in the two Tauros' path.
"That man's in trouble!" Mew says, shocked and dashes into the rescue.
Misty calls out, "Mew, be careful!"
Mew slides down the hill to rescue the man. The two Tauros continue to charge forward. The old man looks back and brings out a Pokeball, but Mew slides in before he could
"Mister, look out!" Mew calls out.
She then throws her Pokeballs, "Bulbasaur! Ivysaur! I choose you!"
Soon, both Pokemon come out of their Pokeballs.
"I am interested to see how you will use those Pokemon," The old man says.
Mew, "Quick, Bulbasaur! Use your Vine Whip to stop the brown Tauros in its tracks! Ivysaur, do the same with the black Tauros!"
Bulbasaur uses Vine Whip to wrangle the brown Tauros while Ivysaur does the same with the black one. Soon, they both leap into the air.
"Clever," The old man says.
"Watch out, sir. This isn't over yet," Mew says, and the old man steps back.
Soon, both Tauros prepare to charge, and eventually do so from opposite directions.
Mew calls out, "Okay, stand your ground! Wait till the last second, then dodge when I say!"
The two Grass Pokemon nod as they stand their ground. Then at the last second.
"Dodge it!" Mew calls out.
Bulbasaur and Ivysaur leap out of the way.
"Okay, it's coming back around!" Mew says.
The Tauros charge.
"Okay, go!" Mew calls out.
Bulbasaur and Ivysaur dodge.
"Now aim a Vine Whip at its feet and tangle them up!" Mew calls out.
Bulbasaur and Ivysaur do the same and bring both Tauros down.
Then Mew calls out, "Quick, use Sleep Powder!"
The two Pokemon use Sleep Powder to spread at the two Tauros. The two Bulls doze off instantly.
Mew happily cheers, "Hooray!"
Pikachu and Eevee happily cheer.
Mew rushes to her Pokemon, "I knew you could do it, Bulbasaur! You too, Ivysaur."
As Mew congratulates her Pokemon, the old man watches and the rest of Mew friends' arrive with Tauros' Trainer.
"That was great!" Misty says.
"You were amazing, Mew," Molly says.
"Thanks.
Then Tauros' trainer says, "Whoa, thanks a lot, guys. I was practicing some attacks with my Tauros when a Beedrill swooped down and stung it. And ended up startling this other Tauros." and the trainer calls back his Kanto Tauros.
"So the black one is not yours?" Tomo asks.
"No, but maybe your friend would like it," The trainer says.
"That's an interesting idea," Mew says.
She then taps her Pokeball on the black Tauros and is pulled into the Pokeball. Soon, with a few shakes, and click after being pulled in the Pokeball, the Tauros is caught.
Mew brings out her Pokeball, and Dexter says, "Tauros, the Wild Bull Pokemon. Paldean Form. Combat Breed. A Fighting Type. This kind of Tauros, known as the Combat Breed, is distinguished by its thick, powerful muscles and its fierce disposition. It has a muscular body and excels at close-quarters combat. It uses its short horns to strike the opponent's weak spots.
Just then the old man walks up to them, "Excellent," and chuckles, "Excellent. You've trained that Bulbasaur and Ivysaur of yours exceptionally well, young lady."
"Thanks," Mew says.
"If you're interested in Pokémon, I may have a job for you," The old man says.
The group becomes puddled."
Soon enough, the group arrives at what seems to be like a dojo by the elderly man, who says his name is Kenzo.
"Well, this is it," Kenzo says.
"Wow, pretty impressive," Brock says.
Suddenly, they hear voices coming from inside.
"What are those voices?" Jen asks.
"That's my granddaughter's foolish idea of Pokémon training," Kenzo answers.
"Foolish?" Misty questions.
"For centuries, our home has been an honored training school for fighting Pokémon. It is a dojo; just like a martial arts dojo," Kenzo says.
"I've never heard of a Pokémon dojo before," Mew says, amazed.
The gates open and they see some students and some fighting Pokemon. Among them, they see a young girl a little older than Mew with pink hair and wearing a yellow ninja-like outfit. She also has a Pokemon called a Hitmontop.
The Hitmontop is a vaguely humanoid Pokémon capable of spinning on its head. Its main body is spherical and mostly blue with a brown triangular patch on its chest. Hitmontop has short legs with white bands near the hands and feet. The feet are large, blue, and have a circular brown pad on the underside. It has a skinny brown tail that ends with a blue sphere with a spike on it. Its head is round and brown with flat, curved extensions on either side and a single spike on top. It has beady, black eyes, and spherical hands with no digits. Hitmontop is a male-only species with no female counterpart.
Mew brings out her Pokedex and Dexter says, "Hitmontop, The Handstand Pokémon. A Fighting Type. Hitmontop's smooth graceful kicks are surprisingly powerful. Opponents may be surprised by their force, so beware."
"Well, sounds like our little friend, Hitmontop, knows some pretty fancy footwork," Mew says.
"I'd love to see it battle. Wouldn't you?" Misty replies.
"I sure would," Tomo says.
Then the girl claps her hands and calls out, "Alright, pay attention! It's important to make your attacks graceful. Hitmontop will now demonstrate the proper form. Hitmontop?"
Soon, Hitmontop demonstrates by doing some kicks.
"Now finish it off." The girl says.
Then Hitmontop leaps into its head and concludes with a spin. Mew and the others are impressed.
"Look at that," Mew says, amazed.
"I've never seen anything like it," Brock says.
"It kinda makes my head spin," Misty says.
"It's making me dizzy," Jen sas.
Kenzo scoffs, "Hmph! She's turning this place into a circus."
Soon, the lesson is over, the girl waves goodbye, "Okay, nice work, everybody! See you tomorrow! Bye!" along with Hitmontop.
The students take their leave, but not before they bow their heads in respect of Kenzo, "Good day, sir."
Kenzo nods in response.
"Why did all those trainers bow to you?" Misty asks.
"They bow, because I am the shihan of this dojo," Kenzo answers.
Misty and Brock are surprised, Mew and the others are confused.
Mew turns to the others, "Guys, what's a shihan?
"A shihan is the master teacher in a dojo," Brock says.
"So he's like a teacher?" Mew asks.
"That's one way to look at it," Kenzo says.
Soon, the girl with Pink hair walks over, "Aren't you going to introduce me, grandfather?"
"Yes. Chigusa, this is Mew. She's replacing me," Kenzo says.
Everyone is shocked by the news.
"Replace you? And be a shihan?" Mew asks, shocked.
Chigusa is just as shocked, "Grandfather, you can't be serious! I'm taking over as shihan of this dojo!"
Kenzo laughs, "I would never let you be shihan here!"
"Why not?!" Chigusa asks.
Kenzo turns to his granddaughter, "A Shihan must teach the traditional ways of battling. You only like to teach ballet."
"That's not true, grandfather! I'm teaching Pokémon how to be winners!" Chigusa says, feeling offended.
"Of dance contests," Kenzo points out.
Chigusa is even more offended, "How can you say that?"
Mew gets between them, "Maybe there's another way to settle this without yelling at each other."
Chigusa then turns to Mew, "Alright. If you want to be the one to take over here, you're going to have to beat the two of us, first!"
"Top!" (Bring it on!) Hitmontop says.
"I never said I wanted to take over," Mew says, trying to reason with her.
But Chigusa is determined, "Come on! Send out one of your fighting Pokemon!"
"Why should I? I do have fighting types, but why do I have to battle like this," Mew asks.
But then Kenzo says, "But you do also have a Bulbasaur and Ivysaur?"
The group looks puzzled.
"Bulbasaur and Ivysaur?" Mew questions.
The two Grass Pokemon reply confused, "Saur? (Us?)
"But Bulbasaur and Ivysaur aren't fighting Pokemon," Chigusa says.
"No, but this one has many of the traits of a fighter. Perhaps even more than your Hitmontop does," Kenzo says.
The very thought infuriated Chigusa, "Hitmontop and I can beat this kid and his Bulbasaur any day! Get ready to battle!"
"Hitmontop!" (Unless you're chicken!) Hitmontop says.
"Hold on a minute, I've never agreed to anything. What makes you think you can force me to battle," Mew angrily says.
"Battle?" Someone speaks up.
Everyone turns to see a young man with long green hair enter the dojo.
The man says, "I want to battle. I also want to be a shihan. My name is Shiro, and I've come to challenge the shihan of this dojo to a Pokemon battle."
"Shiro?" Kenzo replies, "I have heard that name."
Chigusa says, "I know who you are! You're the Pokemon trainer who everybody at all the fighting dojos calls the Dojo Destroyer!"
"Dojo Destroyer?" Tomo, Jen, and Molly reply, surprised.
"That's right," Shiro says, "And when I defeat the shihans, I win the plaques that hang in front of their dojos. I have eleven already and I'm going for an even dozen."
"And what is your purpose?" Kenzo questions.
"I'm planning on opening my own fighting Pokemon dojo back home, and I want my students' respect," Shiro says.
"I see. If the other dojos have accepted your challenge, we will also. But I warn you, you will not triumph here. Come this way," Kenzo says, and leads Shiro, Chigusa, Mew and the others towards the Battlefield.
However, Team Rocket is spying on them from afar.
Jessie spots Hitmontop, "I'd love to bring that back to the boss."
"We'd go straight to the Hitmon-top of his list," James says.
"Then why don't we try to catch it?" Meowth replies.
Wobbuffet comes out, "Wobb-uffet!" (Let's do it!)
"Exactly right!" Team Rocket says, and realizes Wobbuffet is out of the Pokeball.
"Will you get back in your ball? Jessie says and recalls Wobbuffet to the Pokeball.
"We were talking about the top, not the bottom," James says.
Meanwhile, the battle between Kenzo and Shiro is about to begin
Chigusa acts as the referee, "This is a one on one battle between Kenzo, the shihan of the Kenzo Dojo, and Shiro, the challenger! No time limit. Let the match begin!"
"Go, Hitmonlee!" Shiro says, and calls out Hitmonlee.
Hitmonlee comes out and appears on the field.
"Hitmonlee huh," Mew says, and takes out her Pokedex.
Dexter says, "Hitmonlee, the Kicking Pokemon. A Fighting Type. This nimble Pokemon launches lethal kicks from almost any position.
"I will choose my strongest Pokemon, Machoke," Kenzo says, and brings out his Pokeball.
When Kenzo throws the Pokeball, he hurts his back in the process. Machoke materializes, but hurts its back, too.
"I guess we're both a little rusty," Kenzo says.
"My poor grandfather," Chigusa says, worried.
Mew and the others rush over.
"Mr. Kenzo," Mew says.
"Are you okay?" Misty asks.
Suddenly, Chigusa says, "It's up to me, now." making everyone turn to her.
Chigusa says, "You're in no condition to battle Shiro, Hitmontop and I'll take over."
"Ridiculous! You can't defeat an opponent like him!" Kenzo says.
"Yes, I can!" Chigusa says.
Kenzo tries to get up, but he hurts his back further.
"You should rest," Brock says.
Then Shiro calls out, "Are you going to let her battle me? Or are you going to lose your dojo's plaque by forfeit?"
Chigusa calls out, "Grandfather!"
"I have no choice," Kenzo says.
Soon, Chigusa is all ready to battle.
Brock announces, "This is a new match! In place of the shihan, Kenzo, Chigusa and her Hitmontop will battle the challenger, Shiro, and his Hitmonlee! Begin!"
And the battle begins.
Shiro calls out, "Use your Rolling Kick, Hitmonlee!"
Hitmonlee strikes, but Hitmontop blocks it.
"Not much kick to it," Chigusa says.
She then calls out, "Hitmontop, show em how it's really done! Rolling Kick attack!"
Hitmontop charges for the attack.
Shiro calls out, "Defensive stance, Hitmonlee!"
Hitmonlee braces for the blow, and when it strikes, Hitmonlee moves back.
"Now, maintain your rhythm and pursue!" Chiguisa says.
Hitmontop attacks with kick after kick in rhythm, but Hitmonlee is still in defensive position.
"Keep blocking, Hitmonlee!" Shiro calls out.
Hitmonlee does so as Hitmontop keeps attacking.
Chigusa calls out, "Hitmontop, use Rapid Spin!"
Hitmontop leaps onto its head and starts spinning.
"It's fast," Tomo says.
"Hitmontop's gonna win," Misty says.
"Maybe, but using Rapid Spin like can be rather risky," Mew says.
Chigusa calls out, "Your spin's beautiful, Hitmontop! Now Triple Kick Hitmonlee!"
Hitmontop closes in.
"It's coming in from the right!" Shiro calls out, "Dodge it, now!"
Hitmonlee dodges the first kick, shocking the gang as Hitmontop reverses the direction and brings out another kick.
"The left!" Shiro calls out.
Hitmonlee dodges effortlessly.
Shiro calls out, "The right!" and Hitmonlee dodges again.
"It just dodged all three!" Chiguisa says, shocked.
Then Shiro calls out, "Hitmonlee, knock Hitmontop off balance with a Double Kick attack!"
Hitmonlee closes in and kicks Hitmontop to make it stop spinning and then knocks it down. Hitmontop struggles to get back up.
Shiro calls out, "Hitmonlee, Jump Kick!"
Hitmonlee leaps and strikes at Hitmontop.
"Alright!" Shiro cheers, "Now, Hi Jump attack!"
Hitmonlee leaps even higher and sends Hitmontop reeling, leaving everyone shocked.
Mew cries out, "Hitmontop!"
"Get up! Hang in there!" Chigusa calls out.
Hitmontop struggles to get up as Kenzo and the others watch.
Chigusa continues to call out to him, "Please, Hitmontop! We can't lose this match!"
"No sense in drawing this out anymore. End it, Hitmonlee!" Shiro says.
But before Hitmonlee can deliver the final blow, smoke covers the battlefield.
"Hey! What's this?!" Shiro asks in shock.
And with that, the Team Rocket motto appears.
Jessie: (muffled)
Forget your match and prepare for trouble!
The smoke fades to reveal Weezing being the cause of the smoke as Hitmontop and Hitmonlee are snagged in a net.
James: (muffled)
We made our catch and we made it double!
Soon, both Pokemon are hoisted up.
Chigusa:
Come back here!
Jessie: (muffled)
To protect the world from devastation!
James: (muffled)
To unite all people within our nation!
And the group looks up to see Team Rocket's balloon, and they're both wearing ninja outfits.
Jessie: (muffled)
To denounce the evils of truth and love!
James: (muffled)
To extend our reach to the stars above!
Jessie: (muffled)
Jessie!
James: (muffled)
James!
Jessie: (muffled)
Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!
James: (muffled)
Surrender now, or prepare to fight!
Wobbuffet:
Wobbu... ("That, is...")
Before Wobbuffet can finish, Meowth kicks it out of the way.
Meowth:
Meowth, that's right!
"Team Rocket!" Misty and Molly reply in shock.
"What are you three doing here?!" Mew demands.
Jessie and James haul the two captured fighting Pokemon.
Jessie struggles, "We came for a...hit Pokemon!"
"But we are taking two!" James says.
"Let's stop em, guys," Mew says.
The Pokemon agree.
"We'll be leaving now with your Hitmontop and Hitmonlee!" Jessie says.
But Mew says, "We'll see about that! Bulbsaur, stop em with your Razor Leaf attack!"
Bulbasaur uses Razor Leaf on the net, freeing the two Pokemon.
Chigusa and Shiro call out, "Hitmonlee!/Hitmontop!"
Jessie then calls out, "Arbok, we have to get them back!"
"I choose you, Victreebel!" James does the same.
Both Pokemon come out, but Victreebel is swallowing James again.
James cries out, "I choose you and Victreebel chews me!"
Jessie calls out, "
"Arbok, Poison Sting, hurry!"
Arbok fires at the two fighters, but they dodge quickly.
"Enough! Hitmonlee, Jump Kick!" Shiro shouts.
Hitmonlee leaps in as James gets out of Victreebel's mouth.
James calls out, "Victreebel, use your Sleep Powder!"
Victreebel uses Sleep Powder and is put to sleep.
"Oh, no!" Shiro says, shocked.
James cheers, "Yeah! Now get the Hitmontop!"
Mew calls out, "Stop em, Eevee!"
Eevee then leaps in and uses Iron Tail to send Victreebel flying back at Team Rocket's Balloon.
"You handle Arbok, Bulbasaur!" Mew calls out.
Bulbasaur then grabs Arbok with his vines and swings Arbok around and around. Then Bulbasaur tosses Arbok into the Balloon.
"Now Ivysaur, slice up that balloon with your Razor Leaf!" Mew calls out.
Ivysaur slices the balloon with Razor Leaf and sends Team Rocket flying.
They cry out, "We're blasting off again!"
"Wobbu Wob!" ("Buh-bye!") Wobbuffet cries out.
Back on the ground, Shiro recalls his Hitmonlee, "We've both had enough for today. We can finish our match tomorrow if you'd like, Chigusa."
"Hitmontop and I will be ready for you, Shiro," Chigusa says.
Shiro bows in respect and leaves.
Later that night…
"I can't wait for tomorrow. Hitmontop and I are gonna destroy Shiro!" Chigusa says with determination and confidence.
But Kenzo says, "I'm afraid you have no hope of winning the match tomorrow if you battle the way you did today.
"What are you talking about? I almost won that match today," Chigusa questions.
But Kenzo says, "You need training!"
Chigusa backs off, startled, "What kind of training?"
Kenzo turns to Mew, "Mew, would you and your Bulbasaur teach my granddaughter some of your techniques?"
"Huh?" Chigusa questions.
"The reputation of this dojo is at stake!" Kenzo says.
"Um sure," Mew says.
"Saur! (Okay!) Bulbasaur says.
"Alright, but let's just see who teaches who!" Chigusa says, still confident.
Meanwhile, Mew and the others are outside to help Chigusa with her training.
"We will train the battle by having a battle! Salute your opponent!" Kenzo says.
Both sides bow.
And Bulbasaur says, "Bulba." (Good luck.)
"Begin!" Kenzo says.
Mew calls out, "Okay, Bulbasaur. See if you can spin your Vine Whip like Hitmontop spins!"
Bulvasaur does so.
"Okay, now just imagine this Vine Whip is Hitmonlee's kick attack!" Mew calls out.
Chigusa is impressed, "Hey! That's pretty cool, Mew! This might be worthwhile after all!"
Then calls out, "Okay, Hitmontop, kick away!"
"Hitmontop!" (Here I come!) Hitmontop calls out and does so.
Mew then calls out, "Okay, Bulbasaur, dodge it!"
Bulbsaur dodges the attack.
Chigusa calls out, "Keep it up! Don't let Bulbasaur dodge it!"
Hitmontop continues with offense, but Bulbasaur dodges effortlessly.
Chigusa calls out, "Your form and rhythm are breaking down! Go into a Rapid Spin right away!"
Hitmontop leaps back and starts spinning.
"Excellent, Hitmontop!" Chigusa says. Then calls out, "Now use your Triple Kick!"
Hitmontop closes in.
Mew calls out, "Get ready, Bulbasaur!"
"Bulba!" (Gotcha!) Bulbasaur says.
Hitmontop spins near its target and launches the first kick.
Mew calls out, "Dodge right!"
Bulbasaur does so.
"Dodge left!" Mew calls out.
Bulbasaur easily dodges the second kick.
Mew calls out, "Jump!"
And the third kick comes, but Bulbasaur quickly dodges the attack.
Chigusa is shocked, "Bulbasaur dodged all three!"
Then Mew calls out, "Now use your Vine Whip and try to stop Hitmontop from spinning!"
Bulbasaur's vine races towards Hitmontop.
"Hitmontop, get outta the way!" Chigusa calls out.
Hitmontop dodges the attack, but with the third attack hits the tip of its head, stopping the spin and causing Hitmontop to land flat on its face.
Then Mew calls out, "Use your vines to tie up Hitmontop's head and legs!"
Bulbasaur does so, cutting Hitmontop's offense.
Mew then calls out, "Tackle attack, Bulbasaur!"
Bulbasaur launches the attack hard and Hitmontop gets knocked out.
"Hitmontop!" Chigusa cries out and rushes to check on her partner.
Kenzo calls out, "Enough! The match is over! Mew and her Bulbasaur are the stronger team."
Chigusa turns to Mew, "You gotta tell me your secret, Ash. How did you win? How did you dodge Hitmontop's Triple Kick?"
"It's kinda hard to say, exactly," Mew says, and turns to Bulbasaur, "Isn't it, Bulbasaur?"
"Bulba," (I agree.) Bulbasaur says.
Kenzo then says, "They won because they are a team."
"But we're a team, too," Chigusa says.
Then Kenzo explains, "Simply because a Pokémon and the person who trained it are battling the same opponent, it does not mean that they are truly a team. Spinning can be an effective offense, but it makes it difficult for your Hitmontop to sense the next attack. You've put it in danger. A wise trainer would've known how to avoid that."
"I never thought of that. Maybe you're right," Chigusa says.
"Young people think they are always right," Kenzo says, "All you care about is having your Pokémon dance and prance like they're in a show! Your attacks may look pretty, but if you don't work with your Pokémon as a team, you will never be shihan at this dojo!"
Chigusa gasps in shock.
Brock then says, "Mew may not be perfect, but when it comes to working with her Pokémon, she's as good as the best!
"She sure is," Misty says.
Chigusa then drops to her knees, "I'm sorry, Hitmontop. I've been so caught up with how your attacks look, that I lost sight of how important it is to be a team. Maybe I'm just not meant to be shihan."
Hitmontop consoles his depressed trainer.
Chigusa looks at her Pokemon, "Hitmontop, would you be willing to give me one more chance?"
"Montop!" (Of course!) Hitmontop says.
"I promise, this time, we'll be a real team!" Chigusa says.
Then turns to Mew, "Would you and Bulbasaur mind training us some more?"
"We'd love to," Mew says.
Bulbasaur gladly agrees as Kenzo watches on, proud.
"Great! And don't hold back!" Chigusa says.
"You bet!," Mew says, "And we'll train with you all night if we have to! Right, Bulbasaur?"
Bulbasaur lets out his vines.
Chigusa calls out, "Okay! Let's get started!"
The next morning, Chigusa and Shiro are ready for the battle.
Brock announces, "We will now conclude the match interrupted yesterday between Chigusa and the challenger, Shiro!"
Misty cheers, "Good luck, Chigusa!"
"Good luck to you, too, Hitmontop!" Mew cheers.
The others also cheer as well.
Brock then announces, "Begin, now!"
Shiro calls out, "Go, Hitmonlee!"
Hitmonlee charges.
"Okay, Hitmontop, let's go!" Chigusa calls out and Hitmontop charges.
Both Pokemon trade blows.
Chigusa calls out, "Hitmontop, use Rapid Spin!"
Hitmontop does so.
Shiro calls out, "Hitmontop can't read our attacks while it's spinning. Move in and prepare to attack, Hitmonlee!"
Hitmonlee closes in, but Chigusa lies in wait.
She then calls out, "Hitmonlee, use a barrage of Rolling Kicks!"
Hitmonlee attacks, but Chigusa calls out, "It's coming from the right!"
Hitmontop dodges the first kick.
Then Chigusa calls out, "Watch out on the left!" and Hitmontop dodges.
Chigusa calls out, "The right again!" And Hitmontop dodges by leaping over the lower place kick.
Hitmonlee is shocked, "Hitmonlee!" (This can't be!)
Shiro is just as shocked, "How?!"
"Alright!" Tomo cheers.
"It dodged everyone!" Misty says.
Shiro is soon impressed, "Good work, Chigusa, but you're still not good enough to beat us!" Then calls out, "Hitmonlee, knock it off balance with a Double Kick!"
Hitmonlee dashes in.
But Chigusa calls out, "They're coming from straight ahead! Block!"
Hitmonlee sends the attacks, and hits Hitmontop back.
"Looks bad," Brock says.
Then Shiro calls out, "Try a High Jump Kick, Hitmonlee!"
Hitmonlee moves in for the attack.
Chigusa calls out, "Hitmontop, try and upright Rapid Spin!"
Hitmontop turns sideways and continues spinning.
That catches Shiro off guard, "What's this?"
"This could be it for Hitmonlee!" Misty says.
Chigusa calls out, "Hitmontop, go directly into a Triple Kick!" and Hitmontop closes in.
Shiro calls out, "It's coming from above!" Hitmonlee dodges, "From below!" Hitmonlee dodges, "From...I don't know!"
And soon, Hitmontop leaps into the air.
Chigusa calls out, "Alright, Hitmontop! Come straight down and kick away!"
Hitmontop strikes at Hitmonlee with full force, knocking it out cold.
Brock announces, "Hitmonlee cannot continue! Hitmontop wins!"
"Oh, yeah!" Chigusa cheers.
Soon, she and her Pokemon embrace each other and she happily says, "We did it, Hitmontop!"
"I never expected an attack like that," Shiro says. Then he turns to Hitmonlee and calls it back into its Pokeball, "But you did your best, Hitmonlee. Now I can see why your dojo has such an excellent reputation, Kenzo-san."
Kenzo nods his head in approvement, "You are gracious in defeat."
Shiro bows in respect, "Thank you."
Suddenly they hear James' voice, "Stop right there!"
Everyone turns to the source of the voices.
They soon hear Jessie's voice, "We haven't thrown in the towel yet!"
Followed by Meowth's voice, "Yeah, we're ready for another round!"
Soon, Team Rocket's newest robot, a boxing Meowth arrives.
Kenzo demands, "What do you want here?!"
"Prepare for trouble, we want a rematch!" Jessie answers.
And James says, "And make it double match!"
"Etcetera!" Meowth says.
Mew calls out, "Don't you losers ever quit?!"
"Never!" Jessie answers.
Then the robot puts up its dukes.
And Jessie says, "Ready?!"
"All systems are go, prepare to launch!" James says.
And Meowth says, "One Hitmontop coming right up!"
Then one of the gloves of the robot launches forward and snatches Hitmontop.
Mew calls out, "Bulbasaur, use your Razor Leaf!"
Bulbasaur's attack cut the glove from the rest of the robot.
"Don't worry, I'll launch the spare!" Meowth says.
The other glove launches at Bulbasaur.
"Bulbasaur!" Mew calls out.
But Chigusa acts fast and calls out, "Hitmontop, Rapid Spin, hurry!"
Hitmontop uses Rapid Spin and blocks the glove and sends it back at Team Rocket.
"Uh… "Jessie says.
Then James, "Oh!"
"Ooooh!" Meowth adds.
Then Wobbuffet says, "Wobb-uffet!" (Not again!)
The glove nails the robot square in the face.
Mew calls out, "Pikachu, Eevee, use your Thunderbolt!"
Pikachu and Eevee perform Thunderbolt, destroying the robot and sending Team Rocket flying.
Mew cheers, "We did it!"
"Hitmontop, way to go!" Chigusa happily says.
Later, Mew and the others prepare to leave.
Chigusa apologizes, "I'm sorry I caused you all so much trouble, Mew.
Trouble? We had a blast!" Mew says.
"I have a lot to learn, so from now on, my grandfather's gonna train me how to be a shihan," Chigusa says.
And Kenzo says, "I'm getting too old to be a trainer.
"But we have to keep our traditions," Chigusa says.
Kenzo smiles and says, "Well, I could show you a thing or two I suppose."
"Thanks, grandpa!" Chigusa happily says.
"I'm sure you'll make a great shihan," Misty says.
"That's because you're learning from the best," Brock says.
Mew and the others bow in respect.
"Take care of yourselves," Kenzo says.
"You, too, Mr. Kenzo!" Mew says.
Then she and her friends depart. Everyone says their goodbyes to Kenzo, Chigusa, and Hitmontop, and continue their journey to Ecruteak City.
