Trapped in Paradise (In a Hentai World, as a Trap)

Volume 1 Chapter 112: Both in Trouble

“So this is the boys’ dorm? Not much different from the girls’ dorm.”

Yan Xinya put away the huge wrench she’d been holding, her cheeks tinged a light pink, while her big eyes roamed around curiously.

“Of course there’s no difference.”

“There’s a bit of a foot odor…”

“Is there?” Ning Chu sniffed the air, but didn’t notice anything unusual.

Then, she saw Yan Xinya pulling out a stiff sock from under Wang Jie’s desk using a clothes hanger, her face full of disdain. “Ew, that’s so gross.”

“…”

That nose… Ning thought this wolf-girl might actually make a good drug-sniffing dog.

Yan Xinya hung the sock with the hanger and tossed it into the trash bin, then happily trotted over to Ning Chu’s side. “Why are you wearing Wen Yang’s clothes?”

“The AC is set too low; I was getting a little cold.”

“Oh~”

Ning Chu looked down at the shirt she was wearing.

Because Wen Yang was so much taller than her, this shirt—which was even a little loose on him—looked like a short dress on her, the hem reaching down to cover her thighs.

To give some perspective, Wen Yang was nearly six-foot-three, while she was only five-foot-three. When they stood next to each other, her head barely reached his shoulder.

It was like she was a kid playing dress-up in her dad’s clothes.

Why on earth were men in this world so tall? You’d think they were all from the North.

“Weren’t we going to order takeout? I want milk tea!”

“Mhm.”

Ning Chu sat down at the computer, opened the food delivery app on her phone, and then handed it to Yan Xinya.

She was scrolling through some two-player mini-games but was a bit distracted.

With her own safety relatively secure, her mind naturally wandered to worrying about Wen Yang.

What if that innocent guy ran into some plot-related character while he was out? Even if it wasn’t someone from the main storyline, random girls might still hit on him or ask for his number, given how good-looking he was.

The book didn’t have any scene set on the bus, but what if there happened to be a character from the story on the same bus…

And Wang Jie… Even though she’d tried to dress him up as nicely as possible, it was still up to his girlfriend’s loyalty.

Long-distance relationships—what if he showed up to his girlfriend’s place for a surprise birthday celebration, only to find some man balls deep inside his girlfriend?

That would be a disaster.

As for Zhang Shaoqing, he was probably fine; he was just going home to visit family, so no trouble there.

“Ning Chu~”

“Mm?”

“How far along are you and Wen Yang? Have you kissed yet?”

Ning Chu stared, taken aback, as she turned to look at Yan Xinya.

Her ears were perked up excitedly, eyes sparkling, and her big tail was wagging quickly, eager for some juicy gossip.

Ning Chu mumbled in confusion, “He’s just my roommate. I don’t know why you always assume there’s something between us.”

“Aww, but we’re best friends! Don’t hold out on me!”

Alright, best friends it was… Besides, wolf-girl wasn’t all that hard to get along with.

Ning Chu sighed and relented, “There really isn’t.”

Even though she knew Wen Yang liked her, she wasn’t interested in men at all.

“Tsk, so stubborn. Don’t hurt him with those sharp words if you ever do kiss.”

“!!!”

When did I ever kiss Wen Yang? Stop making stuff up!

She glared at Yan Xinya. “Come over here and play the game! Stop talking nonsense!”

She was pretty sure any rumors about her circulating among the girls were all spread by Yan Xinya and her wild imagination.

“I’m no good at games!”

“Then, want to watch a show together?”

Although Ning Chu would rather have an afternoon nap, it felt rude to leave Yan Xinya on her own while she slept.

Yan Xinya’s eyes lit up. “I know a really good romance show!”

She leaned over, typing on Ning Chu’s computer, then turned and grabbed Wen Yang’s chair, scooting it next to Ning Chu before plopping down beside her. “Look! Isn’t the lead actor super handsome?”

A romance drama, huh…

Ning Chu leaned her head on one hand, staring at the pretty-boy lead in the drama and muttered, “He’s not even as good-looking as Wen Yang.”

“Yep, your boyfriend’s the hottest,” Yan Xinya teased.

“He’s really not…” Ning Chu sighed deeply, resigned, forcing herself to keep watching.

Yan Xinya was in full fangirl mode, while Ning Chu, on the other hand, was yawning and nearly dozing off.

She could finally understand what her roommates felt whenever they were stuck gaming with her. It felt like she was in prison.

Her thoughts drifted to what might be happening with Wen Yang…

Over on Wen Yang’s side, it was rare for him to be without the constant presence of someone nagging at him and stopping him from chatting with other girls.

He got off the bus, took a moment to look around the unfamiliar area.

“Hey, cutie, want to add me on WeChat?”

Behind him, a girl in a Japanese-style school uniform, eager and a bit out of breath, was following him. “Aren’t you a tutor? My grades aren’t great either!”

Without Ning Chu around, Wen Yang was at a complete loss on how to deal with this occasional, enthusiastic attention from girls.

He turned around, giving the high schooler a once-over.

She was cute and well-put-together, with a white blouse and plaid skirt, black thigh-high socks, and just a hint of skin between the socks and skirt hem.

The school emblem on her chest caught his eye as he noted her uniform and, uh, verified that she was indeed a high school student.

To be honest, if he were comparing her with Ning Chu, their looks had their own unique charm—one youthful with a hint of mischief, the other lively and sweet.

But in terms of figure, Ning Chu was completely outmatched.

Oh no, he was starting to feel something!

Feeling guilty, Wen Yang’s face flushed, and he quickly started walking toward the student’s house, calling over his shoulder, “Please, stop following me.”

He really couldn’t bring himself to be as blunt or rude as Ning Chu had taught him.

“My parents are looking for a tutor, too! 200 yuan an hour, paid daily. And it’d be long-term—from now until the college entrance exams. Plus, if I get accepted, they’ll give you a bonus.”

Wen Yang’s resolve wavered a bit, his pace slowing.

Two hundred yuan an hour? Was making money really that easy?

But he quickly recalled his recent experiences and Ning Chu’s frequent warnings, growing more certain that this girl had to be up to something.

After all, there’s no such thing as a free lunch!

“If you’re worried, we can sign a contract~”

“Not interested, stop following me.”

“Are you headed to Tianchen Apartments? I live there, too!”

Wen Yang sighed helplessly, doing his best to press forward while enduring the girl’s constant chatter.

If Ning Chu ever found out, there was no way he’d live it down.

She’d probably cancel his tutoring job altogether and block the door to keep him from leaving.

The girl had to jog to keep up with him.

She looked up at his face, thrilled, and said, “None of the tutors my parents hired have impressed me. You’d be so much better!”

The more Wen Yang interacted with her, the harder it became to keep his thoughts from wandering. At the same time, his guilt toward Ning Chu deepened.

“Add me, okay? My name’s Huan—”

Before she could finish, Wen Yang took off at a sprint, suddenly bolting down the street.

If he couldn’t handle it, he could at least run from it!
