Young Justice: The Werewolf

Chapter 3: The Escape

*Muzuka POV*

*Location: Three miles below Alaskan Wilderness*

*Date: July 22nd, 2009*

Opening my eyes fully, I found myself in a strange clear metallic tube of some kind, in a dark gray room with various pieces of equipment I couldn't recognize. I could barely move my body, while I was able to wake myself somehow, my body still felt weak. I moved my arms a little and twitched my fingers but even then I was barely able to.

I opened my mouth but nothing came out, only a rasp of what once was my voice exited. I didn't know how long I was asleep, my body had grown weak over however much time had best, and yet I still felt strong. Like my strength hadn't diminished but I simply had no access to it.

Looking around the room or whatever this place I was in, it was about medium-sized big enough to house whatever tube I was in. Surrounding me was a vast variety of small spikes and holding me up was a small black platform. Looking all over my body I was shirtless but wearing what I assumed were pitch-black pants. Scars littered my body but from what I couldn't remember.

Eventually, my body drifted back to slumber, unable to move or speak. Yet the only thing that changed was my dreams, instead of those jumbled images of people I couldn't remember, it was just the noise of the howling. It made me want to get up, to try and help whoever made that loud noise. As though it was instinct, something I needed to do and must do.

Time passed and I heard someone or something enter/exit the room multiple times, almost always piercing my skin and taking a bit of my blood for some reason. Then over time, I would hear more howling, sometimes the same as before other times different, as if something caught in their throat.

Every time it would tug at my heart, as my mind and body begged to go and do something about it. Each time this happened I felt the energy returning to my body, I felt like I could move more each time.

Over the course of my slumber and exercising my body, getting everything in working order I had learned much about the facility I was in. I had learned of what they were using my blood for, and the origin of those strange howls.

It was their test subjects, humans injected with my blood and some other strange substances to produce transformations. Meaning that they inflict torture and further experimentation on beings that now shared my blood, which confused me a bit. For what purpose could they have for such experimentation, for fun or for something else but either way I didn't care.

Today was the day, I felt my body could move as easily as breathing and I felt that I could use almost all my strength although some bits of my abilities escaped me. It didn't matter though as I opened my eyes I was greeted by a relatively young man probably approaching his late twenties wearing all white, literally a white apron, white gloves, and a white mask. The only splash of color they had was the black odd-looking goggles they had.

They saw me opening my eyes alongside the scowl I had on my face, they quickly grabbed a knife alongside a strange black brick device, a radio I think, and talked into it.

"Subject M is awake, I repeat Subject-"

Before they could finish I raised my fist and smashed the black tube easily freighting the doctor I think they called themselves. Cracking my neck I felt the cold floor for the first time and began to well transform I believe they called it.

White fur appeared all over my body as the nails on both my hands and feet got longer and sharper, now easily able to slice through steel. Then I spoke for the first time in well quite a long time. I also felt my eyebrow strangely enough get a bit longer and a bit...curled if I saw it right.

Honestly, it was strange to see, but I ignored it and ran right at the Doctor before he could communicate any further. I grabbed his neck and slammed his head against the wall either kicking him out or killing him. Didn't know, didn't care and I strolled out of the room and looked around at the nicely clean hallway, which was surprising considering the amount of howling I always heard.

Looking around I noticed two security guards I'm guessing coming down the hallway with strange-looking weapons. Sighing I cracked my knuckles and arms, before charging forward as they began firing them I think. While they didn't pierce the skin, it tickled me though.

At this point, the guards were freaking out a bit as I slammed them into the nearby walls taking them out instantly. While their bodies slumped to the ground, I looked them over grabbing anything that looked useful, which included some keys I think and two white cards alongside some plastic cards/pieces of paper with drawings on them.

I then started looking over the place, trying to figure out where I needed to go or where they put all their victims. I knocked out several more doctors and security guards on my way through the place, just trying to figure out the place's damn layout, I mean they must've created a whole maze.

I think I spent hours going through this place, and I looked through every spot, I eventually caught a whiff in a large dark gray area, that had black metallic bars for some reason. Unlike the vast majority of this place, this area went up which told me this entire facility was underground and that it also probably didn't keep the victims here.

During the time I spent looking for them, I gathered all the various doctors and security guards into one area, to question them and figure out what I needed to do next. Honestly speaking though I couldn't talk that long, my throat was still recuperating from my long slumber. One of them, an older woman who had graying hair eventually woke up groggily still disoriented obviously but hopefully still conscious enough to answer my questions.

Picking her up by the scruff of her shirt, I held her in the air and stared at her menacingly, just to up the fear and intimidation factor.

"So do you want to tell me where they all went, all those "test" subjects?"

She just shakily spoke, clearly not used to treatment like this but she lacked the arrogance you would usually see in someone who does stuff like this.

"I-I-I don't know, the company just sends people over to pick them up."

While I couldn't tell if that was true or not, I had no way of knowing for sure and even then I had no idea who or what this "company" was. Well, it was simple enough to ask and question anyone else who woke up. So I scratched the back of my head and asked.

"Then what's the name of this "company" I have a few words for them."

"I-I-I think they called themselves Neo Inc. or something like that p-p-please don't hurt me."

She then covered her face probably trying to defend herself against him if I was about to kill her. I then dropped her to the ground and pointed to the pile of people signaling for her to rejoin the pile and she hastily went over cowering in fear.

As more people woke up I continued asking the same question, and the answer never changed meaning the woman wasn't lying. This also meant I had to figure out how to navigate the modern world, to understand how much this world changed while I slumbered, and what my memories meant.

Who I was and why I wanted to save these people even though I didn't know them.

Walking away from them, I locked them in the room and swung around what essentially amounted to a ball of white cards. Thought they'd be useful in getting out of here as I found a room earlier, that went up and down. I think I found a couple of people coming down from the outside earlier who hastily tried to go back up or down before I knocked out and kidnapped them.

I went into it and pressed what I was hoping was the up button or something like that. The door slide closed slowly and went up the various floors, towards the surface and towards my freedom.
